Dreamadin: Merc equipment issues

I made a dreamadin and I must say it's been the best char I've ever made in terms of killing power (first time I can do hell baal by myself).

I recently equipped my merc with a CoH (he already has an infinity and some rare helm). The thing is he keeps dying a lot and he's the same level as my dreamadin (83).

Is CoH not good for a merc? Should I be looking for other stats more important that resists (i.e., DR, MDR, LL) or should I just get used to the fact that they will die a lot in baal hell?

Hmm, maybe look into a Leviathan or Shaftstop for him if you want to swap out the CoH, unless that CoH is his only source of leech. Also think about a Vampire Gaze w/ Jewel or Sol to give him extra DR or Tal Rasha's Helm with a Sol (for 7 straight DR). I think CoH has like 7-8% DR, but you probably want more than that on him for Hell Baaling.
