View Full Version : Destroying Resists without Infinity?

Heya,

I was wondering if it was possible to really torch enemy resistance to poison without using something like infinity, via things like a really high Lower Resistance curse while holding onto things like Death's Web and/or Facets. Seems likely that you can get nearly ~neg100% to their resists. Is it enough to break them the way a Light sorc does?

infinity doesnt affect poison resist

lower resist is the only way to break Poison Immunity that i know of, after which facets and bonuses from trang set come into play

So Death's Web (enemy's poison res at -40% or more) unique wand, and lower res would effectively easily bust enemy resistance then, right? And by that, I mean PvM of course.

It would not break immunity, but it would lower the resistance of a monster not immune.

DWeb does not stack with LR. if the LR curse doesn't break the poison immunity, nothing will, and Dweb will not take effect.

Absolutely correct. It is almost essential gear for a poisonmancer in hell

I'm working on a Trang's poisonmancer now, and I hereby offer you a $1 bet (or £1, your choice) that I'll get through Hell pretty easily on /p3 using Blackbog's Sharp :P

I don't doubt that you can (check out what superdave did with a passivezon:shocked: ), but deaths web makes the job much easier. I have my blackbogs on switch (although I would love to get my hands on a tasty fleshripper:jig: ) and its a fine weapon, especially if you like to get stabby.
