I've read many good things about PvM dreamers, but I cannot afford
to build one currently. So, I am looking into cheaper alternatives -
I can aquire dragon shield and armor and I already have beast ba.
The problem is that can't find anything about viability of this build in the forums,
or in fact anything about using dual dragon in PvM. Is there any catch?
Will this skill allocation work?

20 zeal
20 sacrifice
20 resist fire
15 conviction
rest in holy shield and prereq.

conv, fana and holy fire should be amplified by +skills from charms.

Why wouldn't it work?

Use your own thinking when approaching these straightforward topics. Every build is viable unless there is a bug, and in your case there is none. Go for it and test it out, it is experience what counts. I have been using Dragon shield on my Necromancer for a long time now and I'm considering buying a Dragon armor. The only catch is that using HoJ may further boost Holy Fire Aura. Effectiveness is unknown.

try instead maxing salvation instead of holy shield maybe?
and your +skills wont affect auras granted from items.
