So when the hell did bladeshield stop transferring openwounds?
I just tested it vs. another player with fury/chaos set up and nothing. After 15 hits from bs not one caused openwounds. Although, I recall several guides recommending finding claws with bladeshield as it was a nice 1 pt wonder for shear fact of giving openwounds to opponents. It does xfer venom which i guess is better than nothing.

should be changed propably with 1.10

taken from ritslevs cold maiden guide (2003)

What works.. what doesn’t with Blade Shield?
Here is a list :
Blade Shield (main claw only: i.e. the claw you equip first or the one that's left behind if you unequip one. Shields transfer their effects normally)
What works
- Deadly Strike
- Elemental Damage/Venom (1/4)
- Leech
- Physical/Weapon Damage (1/4)
What doesn't work
- Open Wounds
- Crushing Blow
- Hit Causes Monster to Flee
- KnockBack
- Hit Freezes Target (Sigh here Blizzard really screwed up this skill)
- Chance to Cast on Striking (This one pains me but yeah they don’t work)
- Pierce Target

Q: Do Blade Fury, Blade Sentinel and Blade Shield need AR, or do they have a 100% chance to hit?

A: No, they do require AR (use Normal Attack AR), despite them not having an AR listed on the Character Screen.

Chance to cast on attacking works wioth BS even though on striking doesn't,I know this from using Rift RW.

It's worth noting that, while CtC On Attack DOES work with BShield, it gets converted to CtC On Striking. In other words, it only has a chance to trigger when you successfully hit, so if your AR is abysmal, you'll never trigger.

The range of Blade Shield is fixed regardless of what weapon you have equipped. It's either range 3 or range 4 (I think range 4, but I forget exactly). Also, I can confirm that ctc on attack works with Blade Shield, but I'm of the opinion that it's not a viable build. It needs too much- AR, Survival gear for melee range, FCR, huge mana pool, and Rift itself. It's one of the few builds I've actually abandoned rather than finishing. :undecided:
