View Full Version : Help With My Werewolf Druid

Okay, I decided to make a completely new post for this because i was asking too many off topic questions in my last post. I used to be very big into Diablo, but I quit the game about a year ago and forget a lot of the basics, so please forgive my "noob-osity". I've got a few questions regarding my future werewolf druid so that i don't mess up stats/skills and have to restart.
What should my stats look like? I know energy is kept at base, but Str, Dex, Vit?
What is the standard Werewolf Build? I plan on doing mainly, if not only, PvM, I don't really enjoy PvP. I'm assuming Max Werewolf, Lycanthropy, Fury, and Oak Sage, but i don't know where the remaining points would go. I was thinking Rabies, but i hear that that is more of a PvP thing than PvM.
What is the weapon I should be shooting for? I understand that many of you agree on an upped Ribcracker being the best weapon, but I play on USEastNL and it is going to be a little hard to find one from a previous ladder season. What would be the next best weapon for me to aim for?
What is the best gear to get? I feel like this question is asking a little much, but if you're willing to take the time to answer it, it would be greatly appreciated. I've pretty much decided on Jalal's, a Ravenfrost, and a BK, but I'm not to sure which Chest, Belt, Ammy, Gloves, Boots would fit this character best. I'm thinking CoH for the chest, but I really don't know if that's the best out there.
I would like to thank everyone in advance for any help they are willing to give me. I greatly appreciate anything that could help me further my knowledge in the Werewolf category, or in the Diablo category at all.
Once again, thanks in advance,
~Taira

Please read the guides. After that, I'll be happy to answer any questions you have.

Okay, so from the guide's i figured out the stat points and the basis from the gear, but as far as weapon and skills go, i'm a bit more confused. I only see 3 werewolf guides under the guide section, and they all seem to have different builds. The problem is I can't tell which of these builds is meant for PvM and which is meant for PvP. Also, one of the guide suggests using a 1h and shield, so now comes the question of 1h and shield vs 2h for my weapon. Also the guides with 2h's suggest ribcracker once again, so i still don't know which weapon I'm shooting for in NL.
Thanks in Advance,
~Taira

The Ribcracker GUide is the one who uses this to bet the ubers.
The Guide with Shield shoudl be a pvp guide.
The Third guide shoudl also mention Ribracker but also Tombreaver and Botd.
Does it do this?
Didnt read the guides here, only the Fury/Rabies guide wich is like u already said a pvp build.
First the skills: I will go for grizzly and the wolves for more of his live. Thats a nice way to spend the points who are over.
U can do whatever u want even maxing rabies if u have fun infecting enemies, it wont do real damage though.
Weapons:
Eth Tombreaver>Ribcracker>Botd=Tombreaver id say.
The bad thing for u is, that tombreaver is a ladder only weapon too and will be much harder to get for u as the Ribcracker. An Etombreaver with nice ed will cost u a fortune.
That leaves a botd in GPa wich is as i heard a pretty cheap Weapon as u got more ZOD Runes then anything else on ur realm*g*
The Speed from Botd and Ribcracker is the same, ribcracker does much damage with crushing blow where u can do much raw damage wich botd.
U can consider taking Guillaumes Face as helmet since u need some extra crushing blow and deadly strike works well with the high raw damage.
If u need crushing blow theres the Windhammer. That could be ur choice for going uber Trist.
Socketing with a ed jewel or BER will give u even more damage/crushing blow.
ps:correct my if im wrong im not_that_expierienced with wolves but read and calculated a lot:D

Thanks for the info muster.
One more question I remembered. Which is the best Merc for a Fury WW?

everyones just going to say act 2 merc. That seems to be the only viable option for everyone.
I like using act 5 mercs.

I was just re reading over the ubers guide and it said to max Feral Rage. I don't plan on this character focusing on ubers as much as i just want him to hold his own in hell agaisnt normal mobs/bosses. So, should i max Feral Rage or put my points somewhere else? Also, I've seen a lot of builds not max werewolf or lycanthropy, but i think they might be PvP builds. I should max werewolf and lycanthropy for PvM right?

yes.
U can then either increase the life of your Grizzly or increase the damage of feral rage because u will need a single attack in Tristram.
Best merc for Melee is ac nm offensive=might

Maxing Lycan depends on the points you have left. And unless you're Ubering, there's no reason to max WW. Feral Rage is used to give you a Single target attack against a certain boss you may want dead. For example, Some Fanact enchanted boss. You'll want him dead first and Fury is inefficient for kill a specific opponent. Maxing it is up to you. If you want to hybrid into summons then don't. If you want a pure Wolf then consider it.

Okay, I want to stay pure wolf, so I'll give feral rage a try for focusing on bosses and just in case i end up trying to do Ubers on this char ever. If I'm not maxing lycanthropy what should i be getting it to? Leave it at 1? 5? 10? Same for Werewolf if there's no reason to max it. 1? 5? 10?
Also, another thought just popped into my head. The guides i read said to only take enough dex to equip my weapon, which in this case will be 70 for the BotD GPA. If I don't max werewolf, and even if i do, will I have enough AR to hit everything efficiently in hell?

If you want to do Ubers as well max both. You'll spend like 83 points. Then max Oak Sage then por the remaining points where you want. BJam's build can regular PvM just fine. It just has a focus on destroying single opponents when swarmed as well.

Sorry to repeat myself, but i would really like this question answered before I spend my points elsewhere and have to remake my char

NEVER EVER PUT POINTS IN DEX FOR AR!
U get ar from maxing ww, HoW, ravenfrost, max/ar/life charms.
If u use botd u even get -target defense so dont worry too much bout that.

I put points in dex, but I am playing untwinked and find that my AR is suffering. I guess if you were twinking you wouldnt need it :P
But eh, I like to live on the EDGE. Rawr and such ;)

Untwinked stats are always like that though. My Hunter has over 150 points into Dex at lvl 50 >.>

I think I got 100 dex and 150 str right now, and 100 Vit, with all my equips. I only have a 75% chance to hit Normal Baal. Of course I have 30% CB so when I do hit it hurts, and I hit quick :D

Does anyone know if there's a skill builders till around? Like a thing that shows all the skills and you click on the skill and it puts a point in and shows you the damage it would do or the duration of the skill. Only thing i can think of to clarify what im looking for it is the World of Warcraft talent builder

Thank you very much, that works great. I remember I used to use one when I use to play that looked like the skill table from in game, with online buttons worked in. That one was very easy to use, any ideas if that one is still around?

Okay, I'm pretty much done with my druid's gear, but I'm having a bit of trouble with the belt and ammy. String of Ears or Verdungo's? and Highlord's, Mara's or Metalgrid?
Verashiden

I'd use SoE and Metalgrid. Dungoes' +vit isn't amplified by Lycan.
