I got that purple bow that gives +3 to skills and 3 to Immolation so I wanted to make an IA build. Is this going in the right direction?

20 Exploding Arrow
20 Immolation Arrow

20 Valkyrie
20 Decoy
9 Evade
6 Dodge
5 Pierce
3 Avoid

7 in all Prerequisites

With that bow I'll be able to get better overall defenses which is nice

Can this build survive or do well? I think as long as I have that bow it will be good until I get an even better bow.

immozons are pretty weak

if you are bent on trying it i suggest putting 20 in the freeze arrow - you can freeze enemies on top of your fires

what bow is it?

How will you deal with FI's?

edit: is their any immozon guides out their?

This definately is not a cookie-cutter build and could be viable with the right skill choices in support. kykle suggestion as an example.

or use 6x PSapphire Bow along with 1pt freezing arrow as switch for the lengthy freeze time=)

yes, you'll want to stack up the freeze time so you get more then a few seconds in hell

buriza might be a fun one to try

alternatively, you could stack the slow target by % gear and get an ice bow or buriza. strafe everything once, and then immo. enemies would be crawlin around and could be picked off at your leisure, which you will need a lot of :P

Freeze isn't always that helpful, since if a monster is not fire immune there is a rather big chance it is cold immune. It is more helpful for keeping your merc safe than as a tool for immo.

I've made a Immozon in the past and it is viable, just not very fast!
The advice given about freezing then cooking is the way forward...
Use the 6 Sapph bow with lots of cold charms Eye of Etlich, Mav's gloves and belt to keep the freeze time up as it is poor in Hell

Use items with Fire damage (e.g uniq Linked Mail...is it Spirit Forge? Lavagout gloves, Infernostride boots, Nokozan Relic (at low lvl!) and Fire charms as the splash damage from Kuko benefits any form of fire damage...

I'd go into more details but there are threads about this to look at and i'm busy at work!

I'm not too fond of the Immolation Amazon. The damage is not all that impressive...ever. I suppose you would be able to get through Hell, but it won't exactly be easy. Your physical damage will most likely be lacking.

My Immolation Amazon (Or Flare Maiden as I call it [Play on Frost Maiden lol]) uses a Faith but still has real problems killing certain fire immunes. Especially against Lister you would have issues, as you won't be able to break the immunities. A Kuko Shukaku won't be much better at all, though you would see nice values for your fire damage.

I would not suggest ever adding more than one point into Freezing Arrow since the duration won't increase at all, and the damage won't be effective past Act 2 Hell (IMO) without synergies. The key is to get gear that adds +cold duration, since it is cumulative to the freezing duration on Freezing Arrow. Freeze the mob (and keep them frozen) and then Immolation and Exploding Arrow them to death.

I've never been one to add more than one point into Pierce. Especially since you're using a Kuko Shukaku (though most likely not for too long), since it gives 50% passive Piercing.

I'd suggest you add a lot of Crushing Blow into that build. Together with exploding and immolation arrow and multiple hits you'll kill stuff. It'll take a while, but its possible... I once ran through hell with 25% CB and guided arrows (and a kuko).

I do not like the words 'it'll take a while' and 'amazon' to be used in connection with each other. All my zons kill stuff very very quickly, so taking a build that is going to 'take a while' to kill stuff is just not an option.

@ TheBirdsGoTweet - no go.

Well I'm still gonna try and make the build work somehow.

somehow =/

But I'll be playing in groups most of the time so I won't always have to worry about the FI. Merc can always handle those ones anyways...

I was thinking on using the Act 2 mercenaries. Or maybe using the mages that freeze.

And if I ever find myself in a situation where I really have no chance killing certain monsters... I can always just run way and make public game =)

phoenix or brand would be a better choice for a Immolation zon i would imagine

Don't take the act3 mage merc. Take either the Holy Freeze or the Might merc. If you put a point into Frozen Arrow remember that you can use some small cold charms to increase the freeze length. Ravenfrost and various other gear also increase freeze duration. Try it. Have fun, that's what the game is all about.
