some people here have experiance in having 2 cd-keys, so that they can run two instances of diablo

I wonder, if anyone has ever tried to run duriel using this feature. Is that even possible?

According to the calculators, duriel can drop decent items. I wonder if it would be possible to make a "duriel sorc", who would run duriel.
A BO barb would open the game and the sorc would join. She would press "q" to check which temple to use (not sure if it would work tho - that's why I ask) and she would teleport into the proper temple. She would proceed to kill duriel and get the quest drop (remember that BO barb had opened the game, so the sorc wouldnt get the quest).

Is this viable? Has anyone tried it?

if the BO barb has already done the quest, then I think that the quest screen will not tell you which is the correct tomb?

if a char has used the completed staff without killing duri, the quest log will still say which is the correct tomb, and durial's chamber will be open

you can also run summoner to see which tomb duri is in, the symbol missing from behind the summoners location is the correct tomb
symbols from left to right
circle, moon, square, cross, \V/, triangle, circle with moon

you do NOT need a cd loader to do this. All you need is 2 classic cd keys (or 2 classic/2 lod). And 2 user accounts on your computer, this is what I do, because I do not believe in hacks.

A loader of the sort described is exactly the same thing as fast user switching, except cleaner and quicker. I just have a laptop and a PC on the same desk which is probably faster still. I don't use it to find duriel faster though.

In xpac there is more point to duriel runs, as summoner runs are actually worthwhile due to hate keys. As said above, if you look at the signs on the walls behind the summoner, the one which isn't there is the real tomb. If you've memorised all the tomb signs and their locations it's only an extra 30 seconds to a minute on a key run.

It's still not worth it even if you did ensure you can skip the summoner (you wouldn't be able to quest bug duri though if you did that), the reality is duriel is infamous for dropping crap all and tbh the chests in the false tombs probably have a better chance of giving you something decent than duriel does.

in all of my years of rushing, and/or self-rushing via a chant, and having the noob char kill duriel, the only decent item duriel has dropped, was a pair of hotspurs, roughly 4 years ago. in fact, it was my first set of hot spurs.

*shrug* I personally think that she's not worth the effort, but then too, for a mf barb, most folks won't bother looking for enduku in the flayer dungeon either...

That's a good point there. I have tried Enduku a few times, it just is not worth the effort.

I often do the witch doctor on an mf barb. Normally the spawns are pretty much the same as flayer jungle itself for level 1 and 2, leap/leap attack makes getting to endugu very quick once in level 3 (there's only 4 maps, 3 common and one completely different). An SU with a chance to drop stuff 3 times is pretty worth it imo.

When I go down there it allways impacts mij supply of purple. It's the combination of undead stygian dolls and those nasty lightning casting spectres I think. The res of my MF barb is 75 all and still that lightning cuts trough my barb's life asif he has no res at all.

I do find using a leaper a interesting idea.
Might have to be some kind of hybrid leap popper with a kill skill.

weird. my mart barb, at lvl 89 has only 2700 life if I bo with the mart on, and angellics setup (over 3k life if I use all the bo-gear but for solo-mfing it's rarely worth the effort - he has 245 str) and never really has a problem bouncing through the dungeon with what works out to a level 3 leap.

I also WW through everything, including those spectres, only stopping the WW and leaping when I see the undead/sploding ones. their actual attacks don't hurt me hardly at all, so I just leap + run (I have a couple into faster run walk, as well as the 30frw boots)

it's more of a time issue, first of all finding the danged dungeon in that map, then finally winding my way down to level 3.

You don't actually get souls in the flayer dungeon, just the swampy pit. Normally a lot less dolls in dungeon than pit as well and usually none on level 1. WWing through a doll bosspack is pretty suicidal though, especially with how laggy ww seems to be for me in classic.
