View Full Version : What's the deal with javazons?

I play a lot of public duels. Everything is fine, except there's something very odd about javazons. It's just them, noone else - any other class, even bowazons, seem to work like they should, however javazons:
- Their equipment is always invisible. I have seen a hundred javazons over the course of the last 2-3 weeks, and not a single one of them have carried a visible javelin or shield. Their armor and helmet is often also invisible.
- I frequently encounter javazons who use what appears to be Charged Strike (a melee attack animation with charged bolts coming forth), however they can do this when up to a screen or more away from people, and the bolts are often invisible until they hit (and kill) another player. I don't lag, I'm on an extremely strong and steady connection and no other class causes similar problems. One time the javazon was literally 3-4 screens from me, I was running in the opposite direction (with +85% r/w, no less) and suddenly charged bolts appear on top of my character and I drop dead. Another time I saw a necromancer duel a javazon standing inside a house. At one point the necromancer was outside the building, on the opposite side of the door so that a wall was directly between them (and over half a screen's distance as well). The naked-looking javazon made an attack animation and the necromancer dropped dead.
What's the deal with that?
Anyone can str bug, not just javazons. Nothing game breaking, just makes you equipment invisible on other players screens. http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=593781
Those javas where using farcast (fc), a hack that lets them attack with charged strike from afar, possibly with other hacks by the side. Don't hesitate to use absorb vs them if needed.
FC hack shouldn't work through walls I don't think... not the type of walls you can't send for example a fireball through.
you talk like it was an intended part of the game. hackers can do whatever they like, and in this case they choose to kill you through a wall
when faced with an fc son just absorb
far cast follows the normal rules of the game. It can be done without 3de party programs. the program does what you can do manually. So in this case, I don't think they just chose to do what they want. If it were so, there would be much more abuse.

Legit farcasting can only be done when you're on the screen AFAIK, the real pain of the hack is that they'll be doing it from the other side of the moor.
legit farcasting involves namelocking with a bow and switching to javs with cs already hotkeyed IIRC. i'ts very hard to do
Legit far casting is very easy to do but only vs a stationary or slow/predictably moving target. You can legit FC through walls afterall, just tested.
Kykle your method sounds hard to say the least. Just about plausible but I've not heard of it being done that way. Basically just hold shift, mouse over the target, switch right hotkey from CS to a ranged attack (throw, bolt, etc) and back quickly, then right click.
Should work with any attack skill that can be used with a thrown/melee weapon, e.g. poison dagger/throw as long as you're using throwing type daggers, or possibly even frenzy with double throw/throw.

I'd hardly call that legit, it's an exploit.
Also, if you duel a lot in pubs, you'll probably find that a surprising amount of javazons use this explot/hack. At least on Europe, it seems that at least half of the lightning javazons I meet are able to CS half a screen away.
FC sounds very cheap. I haven't seen it in action yet, because I don't do PvP much (except in duels against close friends). I'll keep it in mind. So many hacks and dupes. -_-

it's as legit as ebugged armours. It wasn't supposed to work, but it does without you breaking any rule. So why not use it?
P.S. assuming you don't use 3rd party programs that is.

No, they are all using hacks. I've never heard of anyone being able to use FC reliably enough to succeed with it, without a hack, in at least semi serious HLD. Quite possibly if someone with good micro skills dedicated enough time to it they could become sufficiently adept... these people seem in general to be dedicating their lives to games built with pvp as the centre-piece, not an aside, however.

Legit FC is easy enough to do in a real duel, it only takes half a second to do.
