I'm looking for help building my first druid.
Technically speaking that's not quite true, I built a Druid in SP about three years ago before I knew anything about how to build characters (ended up with an enormous amount of str and dex, 100 energy and about 75 and tried to use every single skill) but I'm looking to build a proper character for my septevirate.
After some consideration I decided against an elemental build and so was wondering how viable the following build would be

1 Werewolf
20 Lyncanthropy
20 Rabies (1 pre-req)
20 Fury
20 Poison Creeper (Synergy for Rabies)
20 Dire Wolf (3 pre-req's, synergy for grizzly)
1 Grizzly

103 Skills Points (complete at level 91) probably put any remaining points into Oak Sage.

Questions I have, is it worth maxing DW when I'd only be using them/Griz as tanks or should I just resummon as needed? And is synergised rabies a better choice for dealing with PI's than a synergised FC? Any better suggestions for the skill distribution that would keep the same basic feel of the character? Also what sort of gear setup would be best? (for SP PvM)

Rabies is not a very useful skill at all in PvM so i would scratch that off your choice of skills and use the 20 points for grizzly instead wich should increase your summons hit points including your dire Wolves. Then you could put rest into Oak sage even though they arn't needed for PvM much.

You can use a Reapers Toll on your mercenary or a Baranars Star with fury to take out Physical Immune monsters.

Dire Wolves become very helpful IMHO for more of a distraction and they will kill the weak monsters while you take out the tougher ones.

Thanks for the advice, I have a perfect Reaper's which would be a nice weapon, HotO + Spirit on switch for summoning prebuff or CtA + Spirit?

EDIT: If I make do without Rabies I wouldn't need any points in Carrion Vine either which frees up a further 20 points, any suggestions for where to put that? Would it be worth investing it into an unsynergised Cyclone Armor, or put it into say Werewolf or HoW? Any suggestions?

If you want some extra hit points oak sage but if you want a bit of extra Kill Power Heart Of Wolverine helps.

Personally id go with HoW if this is strictly PvM since you wont need the extra HP from oak since you should be constantly leeching life anyways with items like Draculs Grasp.

nitpick; 103 skill points is at level 92.
btw, i have a fury druid in SP around the same set-up less the rabies + its synergies and it kills very well (Titan build FTW!)

the 20 points in DW is very well spent as it makes the grizzly more resistant to attacks. if you don't intend to put points in rabies, you can max a spirit instead. as suggested, HOW (for more dmg) or Oak (for more life).

As for gear suggestion, the most important piece is the weapon. And nothing beats an upped ribby. You can even equip IK pieces. The elemental bonus on the weapon can help out against immunes=)
