A Request from a Newbie Wolf

So, I was browsing the Runewords section of the Diabloii.net pages, trying to find a use for the like 20 runes I have found so far.

I came across a Runeword, called Honor. I have seen it mentioned a few times around here.

I have every rune but the Amn rune. I am wondering, how much would it cost, in trade or gold, to get an Amn rune and a 5 Slot Maul?

I would love to but this bad boy together.

I figured I would start here just in case a fellow Druid had any suggestions or could help me out. If not, I will be headin to the Trade forums. Oh, and I am on US East btw.

runes are easy to get as would the maul id imagine.

Well a Maul is fast attack speed anyway for a Druid, and I have some IAS on other parts of my gear. As it stands now I attack fairly quickly, at least to me. I like the +skill, and the life steal and other mods on it.

I just reached Act 4 on Normal so I figured using this would be a nice help for leveling myself.

Ias from items doesnt effect ur attack speed, only ias from weapon effect. U should try get Ribcracker, its quite cheap but really effective weapon for ur wolfie.

Ah alright. Well I am not too concerned at the moment. I am not looking to use this forever. Just something nice to help me speed things up a bit.

For shifter druids , on wep ias (increased attack speed) is really the only ias that "counts". I'd say trade that sol for a for the best steeldriver you can get your paws on. Sheal it for 60ias on wep and you'll be set for awhile. Later Up this to a martel. Try to find a ribcracker and you now have your endgame wep.

Goblin toes and rattlecage are excellent for a huge increase in killing speed for the lower levels. Goblin toes can very well be your "final" boots.

What is a Ribcracker? And I looked up Steeldriver and I personally was not impressed. I like my weapons to have Life Steal at the moment.

Ribracker is a Staff. That shoudl help u find it, i dont have an englisch site with uniques in my bookmarks:D

its one of the best pvm weapon u can get and pretty cheap.

u only need some pg to buy one (wouldnt buy under 280ed) and then lum+pul to upgrade.

the PUL could be a problematthe moment but be sure u will have it after some playing and collecting pgems on hell^^

Ok what do you mean by 280ed, and PUL, and upgrading? I am assuming PUL is a rune...

I can see the uses for both. Honor gives more modifiers, but Ribcracker has it out in plain damage.

But no Lifesteal on the Ribcracker :( That makes me a sad panda.

and yes PUL is a rune....:D

Ribracker is far far far more better than honor.
If u upgrade it is a stalagmite and does 400avg damage + 50%crushing blow who takes 1/4of the monsters life in 1ppl game!!!

why do u want life leech? U get 4-3x ll with feral rage...

Well it wont let me edit my last post so I will say this:

I would love to read a guide and learn however most of the guides are written in such a way that I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HALF THE ABBREVIATIONS MEAN!

I am aware of what Feral Rage does as well.

I pointed out in my thread title that I am a newbie and I really dont like being told "I need to read some guides".

As to why I want Life Leech what does it matter. I am not trying to be uber, and I am not really trying to go crazy. This is my first character in a long time and I am trying to do things my way.

do u really think u wont be able to get some pg?

to upgrade u put pul+lum+perfect emerald in the horadric cube and click the cube button and u get an elite unique weapon.
same with armor but lem+ko+another pgem

gore riders, goblin toe or rare boots
some gloves
ravenfrost+rare ring with stats and to be ubar with dualleech (manald for mana leech does as well)
highlords and until u got it another rare/blue amu

I searched around the Horadric Cube section and couldnt find this Upgrading thing.

I dont know what most of that gear is or where to get it. This is my first character so I doubt I am gonna have access to any of that. As for Perfect Gems: I dont have any yet, but I just hit Act 4. I am trying to find an upgrade I can use like right now that I can get ahold of.

If I need 10 Perfect Gems and I have none, well that doesnt help me at the moment, hence why I was looking at honor.

Also, regarding Crushing Blow, I swear I read somewhere that it could not effect Super Uniques and Bosses, which would make Deadly Strike a bit better in my opinion. But the guide you linked (which is very helpful) says the opposite about Crushing Blow. And if thats true then it would be more effective then Deadly Strike.

So yea, just bear with me here. I am like a total newb to this sort of thing.

I may have an extra ribby as I typically keep a couple around. I believe it might be ethreal though.....and it is not upped or anything...

I have found all my ribbys in nightmare btw.

Best shot: Diablo in NM: 1:259 chance with 0% MF.
Normal: Also Diablo, but with a 1:679 chance.

So until I get a Ribby (Preferably not Ethereal since you cant repair those :P) would Honor be a good choice?

Here u can see what speed with how much ias u get with fury.

There is not a single good runeword except oath and botd wich are not that cheap.

U say u got no PG?
Could it be that u are in Act4 norm?IF that is the matter just search companions and play until u get to nightmare and hell then i WILL find something u can trade.
IF not there is also the Hellforge quest who gives u atleast some pgs, on nightmare and hell there can also be some nice runes!

I am indeed in Act 4 Normal.

Nor am I in any rush. Just trying to find a good weapon for now. I got a Rare Maul (*points to the Show off your Rares Thread*)

I was using any weapon I could find that has some % of IAS (increasd attack speed) I even used a staff for awhile because it was a "very fast attack speed" weapon.

I used a unique scimitar called "coldsteel eye" until I could use my ribby:wink3:

At low lvl just try to find something that has a decent attack speed and use Feral rage alot that helped me until I could get to lvl 30 and start pumping fury.....granted I consider myself a bit of a "wolf cub" compared to some of these other wolf druids.:grin:

I just started yet another wolf, currently lvl 12 and right now he is just using a scimitar of amp damage that I purchased and a low lvl sheild from one of the sets as this wolf will be a one hander.

Anything he can get his paws on as I have not "shopped" with my other high lvl players to find him better stuff.

I used Hwanin's Justice set Bill for awhile. It should be worth like 1 pgem or something. It's pretty fast and has a comparatively low level requirement. If you're on ladder, I have a spare you can have.

I do have to also point out that as a fury wolf, you're not getting your main skill till level 30 so it'll seem kinda slow going.

I have to agree with every one else that Honor is not a good choice. You will be disappointed, and feel like you wasted the Amn rune.

As far as life leech goes, you can get it from any number of sources other than the weapon. Or, you can use your socket quest and put a pskull in whatever weapon you decide on.

i mean...the game starts at hell until then u can play every build, hell is what counts:)

as the others said get any unique/raren with IAS.

U dont need more life leech then feral rage gives u.
In normal u get the full ll, in Hell 1/3, just remember this:)

Another nice leveling weapon i experiencend is the buriza-do-kanyon unique balliste. Goes through nightmare like a breeze. Good damage, very fast and some crowd control through the freezing. Should be tradeable too.

Only Problem with Buriza is that its range is one when Furying. I'll second Hwanin's Justice. Until I found my first Ribby that weapon tore things apart for me. Shaeled it hits 8/5 Fury IIRC.
