That is the question.

Do GA bowa's with good gear put all in dex? Or do you put some in vit? Just wondering.

(pvp wise)

get around ~2k life with ur own BO, everything else to dex. vitzons simply lack the defence and will not kill.

Can someone explain how it is possible to hit 2000 life with a Zon?

- Starting life is what 105?
- You need 50-100 str for equipment, leaving 325 to 375 stat points around lvl 85 to put to dex and vita.
- You get 2 life per vita invested (let me know if I'm wrong) so lets say you put 160 to 190 in dex (to use Faith gm bow) and 165 in vita. 165 * 2 = 330life.
- Add maybe 100- 200 life from gear = 430 to 530 life
- 105 starting life + 520 life (being optomistic) from vita investment and gear + 60 life from act 3 quest = 685 life or so.
- Maybe you are rich or have duped small charms (or grand charms) with 25-30 life on them, let's say 10 mixed of these, that's 250 to 300 life increase.
- 685 life + 250 to 300 = 935 to 985 life with charms.
- Call to Arms will give 1-6 bo, so that's maybe 30% to 50% increase in life.
- Without charms (like most): 685 life * 1.3 (1 bo) = 891 (rounded) life, while 685 life * 1.5 (6 bo) = 1,028 (rounded).
- With charms: 935 to 985 life * 1.3 (1 bo) = 1,216 (rounded) to 1,281 (rounded) life, while 935 to 985 life * 1.5 = 1,403 (rounded) to 1,478 (rounded) life.

Yes, a few of my numbers are debatable, but I have used fairly optomistic numbers. Can anyone let me know if I missed anything or if some of my assumptions are wrong?

Okay well neither really answered my question, I'm guess you guys stay base vit, or close to?

Well first off it's 3 life per point in vitality. Just thought I'd point that out.

Basically.. I would say majority seems to be putting up to 100 base vital before pumping dext because they cannot afford the absolute great charms. And even then some of the people that cannot afford go glass cannon.
My bowazon that had perfect gear was glass.

I dunno, the rule of thumb was 100, but then on my second build this time I only put 85. The funny thing is that after around lvl80 or so I began picking up tons of sc/lc/gc's with vita (more than last season). Just off the top of my head I have 4 vita sc's, self-found (20,19,19,18) in addition to 2 AR GCs with 32hp each. You see, it's easily adding up to a 150hp boost from charms alone. Add on shako/fort for another 250hp and you can see why it's relatively easy to hit 900hp.

I think from 9-1K, you already have plenty as a ranger, and if anything, I probably regret putting in 85 (and good thing I never added that last 15pts).

Okay thanks, I'm going to put in 0. As I plan on selling my other chars gear, and transferring charms :)

Now is the pvp bowa guide still up to date gear wise? And what do you guys use more, cats or hl? Or is it situational.

I would think it's cat's, simply b/c of the big boost to FR/W. In dueling, you're probably not gonna be firing enough arrows for HL's extra DS to make a difference. PVM yes, but PvP (where it comes down to a few good hits), you're gonna want the faster movement easily over anything else.

2K life is easily achievable with good gear(I assume the author has good gear since it was in his question). Also, u can prebuff ur own BO to 80%+ easily(2x soj, arachs, enigma, shako, maras, spirit, 6BO CTA, anni, with BC activated u'll have a lvl20 BO, which gives u 92% boost). Also, note that he can use jeweler's Tiara/diadem of Whale, which gives 100 life, or a rare circlet type that gives up to 60life. Not to mention the oldskool 100life/4os AP, crafted belt, and charms(max/ar/life). 2K life is so easy with gear like this. U can get upwards to 4k if u go the vita route. Lets do a little calculation(my math sucks, please correct if i made any mistakes):

lvl90 amazon:
base life=55(starting life)+60(alkor)+89*2=293
100life circlet=393
crafted belt with 30 life=423
~20x max/ar/20 life scs=823
~17 mix of 20life/frw, 20life/fhr, 20life/res=1163(note that the zon hasnt put a single point into vit)

With lvl20 BO(92%)=1163*1.92=2232.96(rounded down to 2232)

As u can see, the above setup already gives ~200 additional life, and I havent added torch/anni(120) and Fort(~120), which could easily get u to ~2500 life with base vit.

For PvM, I'd keep Vit as low as I can get away with, and go with all Dex. You've got things like Decoy, Merc and Valkyrie to tank for you, so you generally don't need to worry about your Life. If I'm playing an untwinked Bowie, then I'd definately try to get Dex as high as possible; in the absence of any great bows you'll want to do as much damage as possible with what you've got. It's entirely possible to finish Hell difficulty with only 500 life, as long as you can avoid being hit for the most part, and can kill stuff before it kills you.

^ agree. My lvl86 strafe/CS/LF hybrid has 50 Vit and is doing fine in Chaos Sanctuary with ~20%LL. And I don't even have decoy/valk. Plus, dex helps me with AR.
