Wondering if this is what they call a "trap claw"

yup. thats a trap-claw and a darn nice one at that. with 2os in it, it is worth a large pile of pixels.

Is there one better than this? Like 3 lightning sentry?

this claw is godlike. you can hit highest fps breakpoint with this + bloodfist without socking any ias jewels and it's worth alot no matter which realm you are on. best would ofc be be 2assa/3ls/40ias, but yours is very nice main claw.

in theory, yes.
but remember, your claw is in a greater talon. -30wsm and low reqs. with that 40ias suffix, it'll hit the 9frame trap bp with 2% ias. well, 10% as thats the minimum, bloodfists as mentioned above will do it.

bottom line: thats almost as good as a trap claw can get. only someone insanely anal would pass over that one.

I agree that that's an awesome claw. Trap laying relies on IAS, so with 2 sockets it would be even more incredible. It might deserve the term "godly" if it had +3 to LS, a different second mod and another few skill bonuses.

Well, I've decided to trade this off but want to socket it first.
Worried it may get 1 socket.. won't the value go down if its 1 socket?

Yes, it will, but you will get a lot more than in its current state if it gets 2 sockets and you will probably want to bite your butt off when the buyer tells you that he got two sockets on them. Socket it !

The POTENTIAL value does indeed, at this point it's still virgin and not worth so much. One socket it's still worth a good bit, two and it's a fortune.

Let a fella know if that's on East NL :)

Forgive my noobness, but why is the speed it takes to lay down traps interesting? I mean, the traps take quite a while to deliver the damage anyway. It was a long time since I played a trapper, I donīt remember this being an issue.
(This is PVM; I can imagine the surpsise element of sudden trap laying being more important in PVP)


OTOH, itīs certainly an excellent claw for some sort of MA/Traps hybrid, too. However, it may be too fast for Phoenix Strike...:tongue:
