View Full Version : Jmod worth it?

Well I recently acquired a Jmod with 4 perf light facets. My damage increased a whole 1k (not counting the -res of course), my question is.

Is it worth it? Any insight on this would be great. How much damage is it really increasing?

I also have a 1 -res off perf griffons, but that increases the damage about 3k on the screen.

The +lightning skill damage is about like another point in lightning mastery. I dont see how +1 skill and a few % extra damage would raise it by 3k?

it's the -res thats handy for a lit-sorc, not the +%skill damage.

Do not forget that griffs has +1 skills, and at high levels of lightning 1 skill level can easily boost the dmg by 3k or more. -res is especially important for elemental chars in pvp as alot of people have some stacked res and absorb.

so jmod is an expensive shield that adds basically zero damage and decreases resistances by 20%, a value that can be fully negated with less than 2 slots with 11LR charms? thats from a pvp context

im sure it rapes fallens but the poor suckers are already in a world of hurt after that nasty green infinity aura, 2 more is a tad overkill.

I tested it by removing my griffons and sure enough the LCS indicated about a 2k damage drop haha. Dont know what I was thinking.

I wouldn't use jmod on a lightning sorc.. don't you need 117 fcr?
I would only recommend jmod for a foher,cs zon, or blizzard sorc.

Its always good to use something other than an SS or spirit on a lite sorc, try and see what works for u cuz in the end, ur the one whos gonna be using this char.

the point of jmod isnt damage, its being able to get almost 75 block with base dex, allowing you to get much more life

Well here's a question

I've been trying to make a light sorc which does the MOST damage possible, with the most MOST -light res etc, to basically try and kill baal quicker than anyone has done before! (I've maxed the synergies) I had a Spirit shield 35fcr, and I just swapped it with a Monarch with 20/20 die light RBF's in it, and now I have 4k less damage than what I had with my spirit!

My Gear:

Eschuatas +3 skills 40%fcr -5% light res/+25% light damage (because has 5/5 light rbf in it)

Griffon +1 skills 25%fcr -25% light res/ +20% light damage (has 5/5 rbf)

Ormus 20%fcr -5% light res/ +20% light damage (has 5/5 rbf) + 3 lightning

Spirit shield : +2 skills 35%fcr

+3 Lightning Skills Amulet
2 Soj
Arach
Magefist
sandstorm boots
9 light skillers + anni + torch

With this above gear, I do 7 - 54124 damage (BO'ed)

And when I keep the gear, but swap the spirit for the 20/20 light monarch, my damage goes to 7 - 50701 (Re-BO'ed)

is this normal, and if so do you think the 50701 with an extra -20 light res does more damage than the 54124 damage?

50701 * .7 =35490.7
54124 * .5 =27062

against baal(50resistance), -20shield gives 31.1% more dmg or 8428.7 raw.

if u can want to see instant baal rape make a CS zon :F

on that note, tele-bomb charged bolt tears up bosses quite nicely at higher fcr bp's.

Having the most light damage/-res won't kill as fast with a high fcr,over average damage,minor -res. And this is without jmod and a conviction from merc.

I believe with lightning the BP's are 117fcr and 200 fcr, I have just over 117fcr. I have conviction from merc, so now i am concentrating on maxing damage and - light res.
