Would it be possible for me to use one and my merc to use one and have the -35 Light Res stack? I'm wanting to make a Light sorc, but there's no way I can afford an Infinity :undecided:

it won't stack.
you will get a 35% lightning pierce from your attacks. your merc will get a separate 35% lightning pierce from his attacks.

Even if it worked, it wouldn't break immunities, which is the purpose of the Infinity. An immune remains immune until hit with either Conviction or Lower Resists, and even then LI/LE monsters remain immune.
