ok, so I have a pally. sometimes when I charge another player I freeze up and can't move or attack until I get hit again. What causes this and how can you avoid it happening? It only happens with charge.

go to your inventory screen[i] then unequip then equip your weapon. should take you out of the frozen animation thing.

another question on this. Do I only freeze on my screen, like a type of lag, or am I frozen on their screen as well?

the charge lock I am familiar with is a glitch of when holy shield wears off.
many din's that I know, do not use holy shield for this reason, when dueling, and only use it in the short time span of a cs run.
*shrug*
in my experience, when I get charge locked in the fashion noted above it lasts until I exit the game, altho I haven't thought to try the method noted above, since I'm mostly pvm, and can quite easily clear/raid a cs w/out using charge/clag to go from seal to seal.

It's two different things goomba. Your explaining the charge bug, which happens indeed when hs wears of when your charging.
I don't know the reason of the freezy thing, but i would recommend of un/re-equiping your cheapest piece of armor. It happened pretty often i got killed in those seconds your frozen, and there is a possibility you'll loose an item ;)

there's nothing really "cheap" about my din's gear, other than a shopped sceptre that is still pretty nice. I haven't experienced any form of charge lock, other than when H/S wears off
that being said I also haven't been the din in a while.
I had some time this weekend, so I (re)made a new repper/ES experiment after reacquiring some gear that I shouldn't have. Got her leveled, and rushed to just under level 60 in about 90 minutes (including the rush). did the normal mode skill quests, but haven't done any other questing yet.
she still only has a level 2 orb, but maxed warmth, ES, and nearly maxed telekinesis. 125 vit, 125 energy, and the rest will be dumped to energy is the intention.
(she obviously has quite a bit of hard pts in str/dex as I'm not a big fan of twinking, and being an experiment I didn't feel like moving gear around)
she may end up for-going the dtm gear, and going with full irathra's on top of that giant rep. gear, and huge mana pool, and giant ES - should be fun dancing around farcasters if I don't get too bored first.

Actually, thats not the case. You see, I made a few chargers in my lifetime, and sometimes they would lock up even without holy shield wearing off.
First post:azn: but anyway, I have found that while playing paladins that when you use charge and change to another skill like smite you will get chargelocked too. Had a smite/charger that would get stuck if I changed too soon before charge had finished.. I dont know how true this next one is but when using a lld Charge would lock if your mana ran out too. If your hit by a melee attack while in chargelock it breaks, or the other way is just to take off anything your pally is wearing and put it back on.

ooh, i bet thats it. my main skill is smite, but I like to lvl 1 charge just for the knockback/confusion part of it.

Hmm... I didn't know that. Mabye thats the reason why i lock up so many times.
