ok just started up ladder and im trying to creat some wealth

do i sell 35 pgems for a pul(seems the best i can get)
or do i roll GC's for skillers
i personaly dont use skill GC's they take to much room for mfing in my opinion.
in the long run what would get me ritcher quicker?

I prefer getting all my basic stuff first before I start crafting / cubing / gambling. So trade your gems for a Pul (to upgrade to Um-Mal-Ist later) or for equipment you need for MF-ing. Once you have everything for your MF character and some other basic stuff you can either keep upgrading to higher runes for the top runewords or start crafting / cubing / etc.

In short, make sure first that your MF character is as effective as possible. Next, go for things that will certainly give you wealth (runes), and only then start trying your luck.

Welcome to the forums! :wave:

Grand charms make a very small difference to your character compared with important items like weapons and shields. Besides, if you pick up every flawless gem you find, you'll be up to your ears in Perfect gems after a few months so don't worry about running out of them.

Try to have a character that can go everywhere solo so that you can enjoy the game and pick up items as you go. You can make a dedicated magic-finding character to farm particular bosses (e.g. Blizzard Sorc for Mephisto) but doing the same run over and over gets very dull very quickly. With an all rounder, you can simply go and kill monsters wherever you feel like it and enjoy doing it.

well i was thinking of rolling gcs to trade them. wasnt sure what would make profit faster. if it took on average 20 trys to get a skill lifer id make a better profit.
I started out with a cold sorc for meph.now im doing key runs with a lite sorc , im saveing up for infinity with that i hope to beable to add meph and baal to my key runs. my goal is a character that can do it all really fast. i hate the play style of the hammerdin so he is out. i probably wont beable to do chaos runs because i rely on my mercs conviction but i can live with that. long as i can do baal runs. thnx for the replys guys

rolling charms is all about lucky while selling pgems for item does not depend on luck (well unless you want to get a super good deal than u need some luck)

personally spend a few thousand gems rolling charms, havn't rolled a single skill lifer or even a pcomb for that matter and the only skill charm with a good 2nd mode was a 12fhr curse gc.

Don't bother with the Pul, just trade your pgems for items straight up. When you get richer and need that 40 life pcomb, might as well start rolling pgems instead of paying 10+ HR for it :p

Those 10+ HR might be duped haha, but I would trade the PGems for straight up items, what are you going to do with a Pul rune anyway?

2 pul = um
3um=ist
2ist=ber
2ber=infinity!
im at 6 um and 2 ist
ive found more or less all my gear and im conent as far as uniques go
lucked out with 4 shako's dropping and a bk ring.
so i have enuff for infinity now, just kinda unsure on making it.
i had a vex drop and made a hoto turned out only a 33 res, so its not even worth a hr it seems.
plus ive never had a lite sorc befor and not sure how much of a bonus it will actually do. if anything it would let me do meph runs again, but i really want an efficient baal runner. ive noticed lots of zon's do baal runs would that be a better choice? i dont mind the zon play style but figured a zon would be really slow at tele'ing on key runs.
