I was thinking, if it's possible to rush myself through the game: I would open the game with low lvl character, play for 5 minutes, switch for high lvl sorceress, clean the areas that have to be visited, take the act boss to miniscule amount of health and then again switch for the rushed character and finish the act. The only problem is getting the waypoints and quest items (i also suppose the ancients quest won't trigger if the character isn't in game).

Is there a better way to do this?

2 comps for one, and rushing isnt a very good idea, period.
My only advice is to make sure that the rush includes at least one more person to give slightly more exp.

Two computers side by side is fairly easy.

It can be done on one computer using Fast User Switching, but it is a massive pain in the butt.

Using a high level to reduce monsters health to a whisker probably won't work too well, as many bosses will fry a low level character in one attack.
