View Full Version : Need help from frostmaidens
I'm planning to create a build like that.
The problem is, that apart from:
ICE MB bow and nightwing I dont know what to use.
Anyone has any experience with them?
Skill layout and gear?
Best possible gear + ghetto version would be great as well
As for the merc, Shall I use infi?
Thanks :prop::prop::prop:

A quick runthrough, someone who has more time can fill in some blanks and come with some other suggestions :D
Skills:
20 FA
20 FA damage synergie
1-20 Valkyrie, depends on what you prefer.
20 Strafe or 10ish Multishot
X Pierce, get it to 69% after +skills
1-16 Critical Strike, max 16pts after +skills(for boosting Strafe/Multi)
1pt in pre reqs
Items:
Get as many +skills as possible.
Razortail belt, for 100% Pierce
Gloves, something like +2bow/20IAS/mana/manaleech or +3bow/20IAS
Boots, Wartravelers for physical damage(boosting Strafe/Multi) or some rare boots with +mana. Unique boots which gives mana, regenerate mana, dont remember the name.
Amulet, a rare +2amaskills/mana/manaleech or Maras(expensive) or crescent Moon for huge manaleech.
Rings, one Ravenfrost. The other could be SoJ(if you are lucky to find one). BK is also good since it has +skills.
Armor, CoH is great(gives +2skills that boosts FA and 200ed demons for boosting Strafe/Multi), only downpart is that it contains a duped rune. Cheap armor would be something like Peace, gives +2skills.
Merc:
I would suggest Insight Might merc. Gives mana for FA and boosts Strafe/Multi.

Wow, impressive. Thanks a lot.
Hope it'll give a punch like I read somewhere

Considered full mavs set for FA Zon?
Nice skills bonus, nice stacked positive res in hell. decent mf.
Insight on merc for mana issues. I dont think infinity breaks CI's.

My preferred choice of high-end gear is a Faith GMB and Andy's Visage. That way I have a freaking awesome physical damage with the bow, making Strafe and Multi viable killing machines when Cold Immunes arise. Highlord's Wrath ammy, CoH armor, +2/20% IAS gloves, Razortail belt and Gore Rider/War Trav boots. You'll still have pretty comparable Freezing Arrow damage, but you'll also have physical damage almost that of a pure Strafer, kind of like the best of both worlds. As long as you have that 50%-55% or so IAS on top of Fanaticism with a GMB to hit the 8 frame mark, you'll churn out average DPS comparable to each of the pure Bowazon sub-classes too. With this setup you'll need Mana Leech on one of the rings (the other is naturally Raven Frost, of course), or scrap the Highlord's for a +2 Amazon rare ammy with ML and socket Andy's with an IAS jewel.

As long as you get the Ice a frostmaiden can wear pretty much anything else and still be effective. (I had maxed out goldfind gear apart of the Ice)
Krem's setup sounds nice,
From my experience the hardest things to accomplish for a frostmaiden is:
#1: phys dmg/backup attack. some people even recommend faith over ice for this reason. Else you can have one on switch or so i guess.
#2: Mana, this build is very mana intense, load up on lots of mana and leech if you have some phys dmg to back it up. Insight is a good idea aswell.
As for stats, depends on what bow you use. If it's a low dmg bow you might aswell go vita as most dmg is cold dmg.
Somehow I dont feel good about switching bows. I have Ice MB. How much ias do I need to reach a reasonable breakpoint?
How about using Ice for cold and physical, giving Faith to the merc and putting on a Crescent moon for mana leech? Infi indeed will not break much immunes so it'd be better choice perhaps.
I'll go max dex as I want as high damage as possible.
Anyone tried to run CS with this build?
As for the Mav setup, it's looking terrible and I want to use Ice MB, not Mav bow...

0 %/ 12/ 2
8 %/ 11/ 2.2
22 %/ 10/ 2.5
42 %/ 9/ 2.7
75 %/ 8/ 3.1
142 %/ 7/ 3.5
IAS %/FPA/APS
And 60% IAS to hit Strafe at 2fpa, otherwise you're at 3 fpa.
I much prefer the speed of Faith over the damage of Ice, but I have both for my Frost Maiden. When I need Physical damage, I switch to Faith. When I want to blow the crap out of something, I switch to Ice.
Fortitude (expensive option) would add more Physical Damage than a Chains of Honour would add in Cold Damage (by a large margin, at least for me anyways), which could be helpful for you.
Dual Ravenfrosts is a nice option too if you can't get an SoJ/BK, since it adds Cold Damage (and freeze length) as well as DEX, Mana, AR, and absorb.
Duel ravens? Hmmm
I have a rare ring:
116 AR
6 ml
7ll
72 manaPR 16
plr25
Dummo maybe it's good to use.
Are you using Crescent moon with Forti? Or Highlords?
What about boots? Waterwalks or Wartravs?
