A couple would be fine.

It seems like the right place when "Trading for Single Player & Open MP Characters" is the description for the forum.

The economy and standards of trade for single player are radically different than online play, where SOJs are used liberally because they are duped. No one in the SP trade community would ever trade "a couple of SOJs" because they are so rare. They certainly wouldn't trade a SOJ for crafting supplies or sockets. A SOJ trade here is a notable event. That's why omg thought you had the wrong forum--an opinion shared by everyone else who read your post and saw how long you've been around the forums.
If you'd like to take part in our trade community, I suggest you take a look at the stickies both here and in the SPF and decide for yourself if this style of play is for you. We'd all be glad to have a newcomer.

Up until I upgraded to 1.11, I did have several legit SOJ's Unfortunetly, they all got wiped out, along with TONS of other items, when I got a new computer. The drive they were on simply died.
Question for anyone and everyone:
Let's say I have a totally legit item and copy the save file of the character holding it. If I do whatever crafting/socketing I was going to do and decide I didn't like the result, do you consider it cheating to "undo" the work by re-loading the previous version of the save file?

One further question: You mentioned the description: "Trading for Single Player & Open MP Characters"... are you in fact referring to an Open MP character(s)? The reason I ask is because Open is full of dupes & hacks, and 99.99% of the people here want nothing to do with it, or the items that come from it - just so you know.
And honestly, I'll be blunt and say I'm quite leary of your authenticity of once having "several" "legit" SoJ's. There are quite a few people here that have been playing this game since it was released and a lot of them have never seen a single SoJ. I think I've seen about 8 traded here in the ~3 years I've been hanging around this forum.

I've owned a decent number of SOJs over the life of my playtime (1.04), so that in itself doesn't bother me. Just everything else about the situation.
The only reason to trade in this forum is if you buy into the way the SPF plays the game. No one here will blame you if you don't find that way fun and don't want to do it, since you should always have fun with whatever game you are playing...but it also means that no one here will trade with you.
Save scumming (your scenario of using backup files) is a big no-no in our style of play.

I found 1 and had 3 given to me by a friend who ran D2 on 3 comps at once and used a hack that made lots more items drop. (The term is "Item farming" if I'm not mistaken.) Other than that, everything was legit.

This is the only cheating I do, and only once in a while. Usually only when I get really crappy stuff from Charsi.

Infrequent or not, both things bar you from trading on the single player forum with your current set of characters.

TopHatCat64 nailed this one.
Your items to not conform to this forums standards of legitimacy, so you may not trade or MP here barring a complete restart. Should you decide at some point that you want to restart, PM me before you trade or MP.
