What's wrong with my T-stroke?

Hey there, my new LF/FA zon recently hit the level where I can use my T-stroke. I meet the strength and dex requirements too, but I go to equip it, and it just won't for some reason. It doesn't have the red background like when you don't meet the requirements, it just won't let me equip it.

Am I missing something here?

What is your current weapon? Your current weapon is probably supplying some of th strength/dex you need, so when you try to equip your TStrokes, your current weapon gets unequipped, leaving you short of the requirements.

the above, or, maybe your inven is full and you have two items in your weapon slots, so if you replace it there's no room for the other weapon to go anywhere

so rather than drop it on the ground, the game doesn't let you equip it. dunno, it's probably what evrae said.

that brings up to the question, why change? Isn't titan best for pvm?

Titans are probably the best overall choice but not for killing bosses with decent lightning res compared to tstrokes, especially if you don't have facets or infinity. On a pure java the dex req won't be worth it, compared to non upped (especially eth) titans, but not an issue for FA/LF.

Yes and no. Depends on the build, equipment, and other supporting factors (like the merc).

Full tilt max damage Lightning Jav'er= T'strokes.

Almost any other build I can think of using a Javelin= Titans.


Personally. . .I like 'em both.

And really there isn't too much of a difference in requirements.
Alot of people upgrade their titans which makes them have to meet the same STR/DEX/Level requirements as the T'Strokes anyway.

You can't lose with either set. They are both Wonderful Javs.

I used T'strokes for bosses and Titans for everything else on my fishyzon. If tstrokes has replenish quantity I probably would be using it all the time.

I started using tstrokes on my hybrid and haven't looked back. Here's why:

1) It's a hybrid, so I do a fair amount of strafing. This minimizes the times I use LF per run, and hence, the frequency of me having to go to town to repair the stack isn't bad. Using charged strike for smaller packs instead of wasting mana and javs on LF also helps.
2) Its kill speed is noticeably better for normal packs. For bosses, kill speed is exceptionally better.

Bottom line: If you're a pure LF javazon, stick with Titan's. If you're a hybrid, go with strokes for greater kill speed. I can do at least one baal/pit/chaos run on one stack of strokes before having to repair. If the replenishing mod is really a huge deal to you, carry a second stack. Tstrokes are ridiculously cheap to trade for compared to near-perfect or eth titan's.

I feel dumb now, well, this is my first Amazon and I didn't realize that Titans gave such a good boost to Str and Dex. Thx for the help.
