View Full Version : Imbuing
Hi :)
When using the Imbue quest reward, what factors (such as character level, item level, and difficulty) influence the available affix-levels for the resulting rare item?

It will have an item level of charlelvel+4, just like a perfect roll on a gambled item which turns out to be rare. The item level, together with the base quality level decides about the affix level. I posted the alvl calculation procedure a few days ago, either here or in the community forum. Use advanced search to find my recent postings :wink3: Base quality levels can be found on Arreat Summit, in the section anout normal/exceptional/elite items, the link is in my sig.
Found it, thanks

ummm has anyone noticed that what you are wearing seems to affect how the imbued item of the same type comes out? im serious...like if im wearing boots with certain qualities and i imbue some boots, it comes out with almost identical qualities as the boots im wearing but a little better. i literally used this a few days ago because i was an assassin (kick damage matters) and i had some boots that were elite but no stats and normal low level boots with good stats...so i WORE the normal boots, imbued the elite, and got best of both worlds. or has this just been a coincidence every time for me?

Circumstancial evidence, the same thing with perming. It seems to work when it actually does nothing. Have you ever heard of people taking totally non-medical medicines and being cured of diseases only because they believed that the cure actually was working? It's the same thing.

It's called selective memory. People can remember things better if they occur together with certain other things which they consider to have an influence because of that. However, it won't hurt if you imbue your items e.g. at full moon while being naked, pouring chicken blood over yourself... except for the chicken, of course
that's just your mind playing tricks on you: take this for example
your next wish will come true if you can stand in the corner of your room and not think of a white bear
