Well i've never really played zons, but ive recently came across a buriza, 195 ed, and am wondering if a buriza is still feasible, if so please post other equipment and stats I would need, or a link to a guide. If it makes a difference i'm nl.

Burizon's are still alive and kicking as far as I'm concerned. . .although the runeword 'ICE' kinda outclasses the Buriza all things considered.
There are a couple of other bows out there that can put down some major damage, too, but the Burrito is still considered a very, very fine weapon.
As far as skills and supporting equipment. . .simply take a standard Frostmaiden build and slap a Buriza on it. Done. You won't be needing any additional pierce, so switch out the Razortail belt one would normally wear and throw on a String of Ears, or what ever other belt you want. IAS is always welcome- although keep in mind that crossbows are inherently slower than bows so you will never quite reach the speed of some of the faster bows out there. The idea is to put more behind each shot rather than more shots in the air. You can also save the points you would have normally put into pierce and put them into something else (I recommend Valk and Decoy, but that's just my humble opinion).
Bottom line. . .if you've never made one and you have a Buriza. . .Why not give it a spin. . .They really kick major butt and I am sure you'll love the build.

Of course the cannon is still viable. Most people in the game cannot afford Faith and other such duped nonsense. A buriza is still mighty powerful damage and the reqs are relatively low all things considered.
Classically, the Buriza was combined with Shaft/Gaze/String. Or you could go for an IAS build, with Armor/Helm covered in Jewels of Fevor for big IAS (though your xbow can never go as fast as a bow can go).
The beauty of the cannon is that your other gear doesn't even matter. Just get some mana leech on her, and she can do basically anything. Adjust gear for life, res's, etc. Or even MF.

And just to add to the other good points, never, ever upgrade your Buriza like you would a Witchy/Goldstrike.
Yeah Buriza is really cheap (pgems). Considering that w/o it, I don't have any true alternative...it's not bad. Of course a WF or Faith are much better, but it works, even in hell.
If you Shael it, you can get 12/3.5 strafe and 12MS (which is one or two step from it's max speed anyway). E.g. using my setup, I have Highlords/Goldwrap/LoH. That's 50% IAS + 80% buriza. I actually haven't shaeled it, but if u do, then you would hit the bp I mentioned above. Otherwise, like what I have now, you'd be doing 12/3.5 strafe and 13MS.
Isn't it 140% IAS to hit the 12 frame breakpoint?
Woot! 700th post!
Yeah, I meant I only have 130% IAS right now (hence 12/3.5 and 13). If you Shael it (using same items I have), then you'd have 150% to hit the 12frame MS bp.

Sorry to revive an old thread,
I have a burizon in late-nightmare with 42 stat points remaining - It's amazing what a buriza, some mana leech and multiple-shot can do! I've been saving up points because I don't know what to expect from hell.
My initial thought was going to roughly follow some guides I'd read: some points in freezing, 17 in valk and max guided. But then I realised that most of these guides were written pre-1.10, and made heavy use of GA+pierce.
Is this still viable in SP hell, or will cold-immunes be a problem?
If cold+physical isn't workable for a burizon in hell, how about a fire skill like exploding arrow? or weapon-switch lightning fury + pierce?

Im making a burizon now, my first zon on ladder this season. Is the Piercing Attack on burrito the same as on Razortail? Which belt should I use if so?
from what i know of bowazons, is that if you use buriza, drop razortail, and go for string of ears.
And i have a buriza with a socket(and 196 ed too =D), what should i socket it with?

Buriza grants an automatic 100% Pierce, which means to use Razortail with it would grant 133% Pierce total. Obviously, you don't need this much and the game won't count anything beyond 100%. Knowing that, Razortail may not be the best belt to use with Buriza.
Top contenders IMO for Buriza, depending on your needs:
IK Belt (nice when combined with gloves and boots of IK set)
Nosferatu's Coil (life leech, +15 Str, 10% IAS, 10% Slow--lots of good mods)
Goldwrap (for MFing)
Thundergod's Vigor (to make yourself Gloam/Black Soul-proof)
I think the IK Belt (plus other parts) and Nosferatu's Coil would work best on a Burizon.
String of Ears has good mods, but the 10-15% PDR isn't really needed for a Bowazon. That's a mod better used on a meleer like a Barb or Paladin.

IIRC, the Buriza I use on switch for my Eaglehorn Strafer can kick out 3.7 or 3.8K max damage according to the LCS, when I have Might aura on. I believe a dedicated Burizon build can easily surpass this. I'll try a dedicated Burizon with most of the equipment I listed in my older posted linked above, after I finish up my new Sorc builds.
CCornchip, cold + physical will be enough for Hell, definitely. Against Cold Immunes, Strafe/Multishot them to death. Against enemies who are not Cold Immune, hit with synergized Frozen Arrow (maxed Cold Arrow + Frozen Arrow) and they should die quick. My Frostmaiden has no prob with them. Against PIs, either get your Merc to cast some kind of curse (Decrepify from Reaper's Toll or "Lawbringer" Sword) or equip an Atma's Scarab to trigger Amp on them. If using Atma's, you'll want to preferentially use Strafe to trigger Amp quickly and reliably, because Multishot won't do it well. (Multishot's ability to proc special effects is limited to the two central arrows, whereas every Strafe arrow can proc a special effect.)
Would not recommend Exploding Arrow unless you can get -% enemy fire resist gear, stack lots of +bow skill GCs, and good fire charms. To make it feasible, I think, would require a "Phoenix" Bow + "Infinity". All of those might be tall orders. Frozen Arrow does a lot of damage and only gets better with +skills.
Buu, I'd recommend Shael unless you've already hit your IAS breakpoints. IMO, Buriza already has good damage.
