Okay, to start, I'm not looking for maximum, uber characters. I like decently good characters who are a lot of fun to play. So, with that in mind, I'm thinking of rerolling my sorc. She's 68 and Meteorb. I don't like Meteor or fire that much. Fire's kinda boring to play (well, 'cept firewall is fun) and Meteor is REALLY bothering me as I see what hell diff is like (meteor is great when something's slowed, so I use it as a secondary, and if it's a CI mob, I'm screwed).

So, I make Lit/Forb! I love chain lit. It's not the best damage, but it's a lot of fun, and it'll work vs CI mobs. I use Forb as my main attack 'cause it's the most fun. So, here's a build:

Cold:
Frozen Orb, 20
Cold Mast, 10
Frozen Armor, 1
Prereqs, 5

Lit:
Lightning, 20
Chain Lit, 20
Lit Mast, 10 - 20
TP, 1
Prereqs, 2

Fire:
Warmth, 1

My gear is ~+8 skills, so I'm planning with that in mind. I've got about 20 skills left, all told. I'm thinking of maxing Lit Mast for the extra damage. I love that mastery. That would leave me 10 pts. Well, actually, since I'm being realistic, that would be it, because I doubt I'll hit 99.

With +8 skills, and 10 lit mast, my Lightning hits ~4k (max), and with 20 lit mast it hits ~6k. That's my boss killer, there.

Opinions? Advice? Energy Shield? T-storm?

Edit: Don't know how I missed it, but http://strategy.diabloii.net/news.php?id=562 is a good guide. *facepalm*

i've made a couple of these and they are by far my favorite dual element sorc. i too do not like met/orb. i'd definitely recommend the light mastery points, skip es unless you can put points into tk, and tstorm is a decent enough one pointer.

Every single point you can spend in Lightning will be appreciated. I'd personally drop the one point in Frozen Armor (you're a sorc - you shouldn't get hit anyways), as well as one point in CM (bringing you to slvl 17 total). Once LM is maxed is when I'd put further points in the cold tree.

However, that's just my two cents. It's certainly a fun, viable build you'll have.

i strongly disagree w/ the no cold armor suggestion. i've been saved by it/them freezing something too many times to not use it. if you really dont want to put a hard point in then you could prebuff it from an orb/staff.

Yar, I love Frozen Armor. Sort of a just in case spell, ya know? Thanks guys.
