Boss grand charms

So I found a grand charm from mephy hell today and I heard that they're good for re-rolling. So what stats can these grand charms end up giving? Can they be +1 or +2 to skill charms? Or are they just +85 life? thx.

Charm can only have 45 life mod. People usually reroll baal or diablo gc.

The level of an item determines what affixes are available to it. ILvl is determined by the level of the monster creating it, and the highest MLvls belong to hell Baal (99), Diablo (99), and Nihlathak (95). Only they can drop a grand charm of vita with 41-45 life. If the GC they drop doesn't have it, it can be rerolled - like other magic items - with three perfect gems (preferrably PGems not used for crafting, as they are more valuable). Skillers with high life trade very well, but even a plain +(41-45) life charm trades decently, as that affix proves it's a roller.

Diablo in hell is lvl 94, not 99. Also, as for rolling GCs, u can roll all the ones that are ilvl50 or higher, but to get maximum benefits, I suggest u roll the ones with ilvl of 77 or higher. At ilvl 77, the GC can spawn with the suffix "of vita", giving it 36-40 life.

So, to answer OPs question directly:

1. Mephistos GCs are exactly as good as any GC from any cave in act 1 Hell (excluding Underground Passage level 1, jail, catacombs and first 2 lvls of Tower though). They all can roll upp to 40 + life.

2. Skillers can have +1 and only +1 to skill tree - doesn´t matter how high ilvl of GC is.

It is true that if you just look at life, 3 x 20 life small charms gives a higher result. However, the discussion is focussed on rerolling (3 Perfect Gems + any magical items transmutes in a new magical item of the same type) grand charms into "skillers" with life. E.g. For a Blizzard Sorc having an inventory full of cold skillers with life gives results in almost the same life as with only small charms of Vita but with the added skills (10 max).

Every +life is good, your toon has never too much hp :azn: Having + life on skillers optimalizes your inventory space. 3x20 = 60, yes, but 60+45 = 105 :laugh:

In other words, a Pcomb with 45 life is 371489392743928 times better than 3 20 life sc's.

where can I find gc's that reroll into skillers? can my mephy gc be considered as one of them?

Any GC that drops in hell will reroll into a skiller. It may take a lot of rolls to get one however.

If it is Hell Meph - that´s ok. You can get up to 40 life on it and + to a skill tree. As said begore it can take many rolls before you get ANY skiller. There are 21 possible skillers and it is not said that you will get just this skiller you want to :rolleyes: .

Probability to roll + skills and + life (any) is preatty low. Things like + 1 to fire skills, + 40 life can happen 1 time / 2 ladder seasons (or most probably - never). Things like + 1 to pally combat, + 45 life NEVER happens but when they do it´s about a www event and you can get for it everything you have ever dreamt about + a bunch of high runes as a bonus. :grin:

Taken from the german affix calc:

Chance of rolling a
- skiller = 4.3388429 %
- skiller with life suffix = 0.6942148 %
- skiller of 40-45 vita = 0.0867768 %

it's all luck. Ive wasted 100+ pgems on a charm before, but once i got a 10/60/40 first roll :P

For purposes of rerolling, all charms from the same source are equal. The affixes before rerolling don't matter, so if you want to reroll at all, that charm is just as good as any other.
