I've been dueling with barbs on east nl that have been using at least 1 charm with cold damage. Also, while the cold does freeze you momentarily, tactic is added to avoid you while you ww, and try to catch you at your stopping point where you are the most vulnerable. Anyone else noticing this? or if you have any comments, please share.

That much I know. I guess I'm just wondering if anyone is seeing this as a more recent trend + tactics.

Anyone else noticing this? or if you have any comments, please share.never seen barbs use cold dmg charms, as for the dueling tactics you mention here its what is logical to do vs barb especially when using a smiter.

As far as cold damage goes, if it's another barb, smiter, zealot, or any melee char that uses it against you, they're actually giving YOU the advantage. Yes, it slows you down, but it doesnt slow your ww attack speed down. Meaning because you move slower, but dont spin slower, you have more chances to hit.

In dueling melee chars, getting frozen = good.

As far as the tactic goes...that's just common sense when dueling a ww barb. Best way to counter it is to ww away from them as they try to jump you when your previous whirl stops. That way they usually run right into your whirl and take a hit.

Well, as far as being frozen while ww in BvB, its only really advantageous if you catch the other barb while he isn't in an attack sequence. Which is of course due to an increased number of hit checks comming in, and going out of range.

However, If you are frozen, and the other ww barb is not - and your both ww'n through each other - then there is no hit check advantage since you will both be in and out of each others range at the same exact time. -moot.

And I would agree with mainaman's implementation of those tactics for a smiter to use on a barb, but its very rare to see anyone much better then noobish shift smiters that would join BvB games in hopes to get an easy thrill kill :D

I guess I'll revisit why they want to carry/use cold and report back, makes no sense at this point.
