View Full Version : Sword or Axe for Pvm / GF Barb ?
Collosus Sword or Berserker Axe ?
I want to make a WW Baba for GF runs and maybe D-key runs, DC killing in the future. Which weapon is "better"? Does this 10ias vs 0ias matter or I will see no difference while using WW ? I plan to use BotD + Grief, but that can change
If you plan on dual wielding, definitely go for 2x zerkers, as Grief + Beast is the most damaging combo. For Colossus Swords, the break point is 44% ias for 4 frames, which is impossible to hit with Grief. A Colossus Blade will take 39% ias to hit last bp which is possible on a Grief but extremely hard. Zerkers will take 34% ias which is much easier. A BotD will hit the breakpoint regardless of weapon because of the 60% ias.

If were talking frenzy the highest dmging combo is 2x eDeath Ettins with a Act 1 Faith merc, not the greif+beast, and also the Death's wont have rep costs, and will be cheaper to get i do believe. If its ww though, then it is Greif+Beast (although since its pvm, id prolly go with eBoTD+Beast).
As for the GF aspect, and this is taking in consideration if you are a frenzy GF barb, ive heard of ppl using the 2x eDeath Ettins on one switch, and on the other they have either 2x Eth Rune Masters w/ Zod+4x Lems in each or 2x Rune Masters with 5x Lems in each. I do believe that both switchs will hit the last frenzy bp with the A1 Faith Merc so no worries there.

if its pvm dual botd>botd/beast-low repair costs, more overall damage, leach.
The best botd/greif capable sword does less damage than the best grief/botd capable axe,so axes are preferable & also because of lower requirements to wield them.
I like grief/beast ba thiunk it might be good for pvm

Greif+Beast = Rep Costs, No Leech. IMO those are big factors when looking for pvm weapons. Yes they are a very very impressive combo in the world of pvp where the rep costs mean little and leech nada.

also because of lower requirements to wield them.
That's why I always thought people went for axes over swords - it saves you a good bit of points in dexterity.
