medium weapon for zealot/smiter

Hi Im making a zealot/1 pt smiter for ubers(lvl 89 atm). My question is what weapon to use. I have crescent moon phaseblade and Nord's and Im using HoZ. Are these weps lame for this job? I dont have resources for grief, death and BotD. I need a vex for oath(is it worth it?). I know I need life tap but havent found drac's yet(I do have a life tap switch though). Thing is in the various ubers guides I dont see either nord's or crescent mentioned as cheap/medium wep suggestions. Instead its stuff like heaven’s light shealed phaseblades they suggest. Is this because You wont zeal at all in trist or am I missing something, cuz these suggestions seems kinda meh.
Am I blinded by the static field on crescent or is the weapon fine for ubers(I mean its in a phaseblade which means I can 4fps without further ias on gear). Only thing that annoys me about Crescent so far is when mobs get to 50% in 8 player games I feel like an idiot pounding away doing pitiful dmg (I think it has 93-108 dmg).

My other gear is:
+2 pala dual leach diadem.
Cracted blood gloves with 5% leach and 10% cb (laying of hands when i use Nord's)
t-gods belt (for soul parties)
Gris armor with resist runes
HoZ
Saracen's Chance amu
ravenfrost + rare LL resist
Goblin toe

I know I should get drac gloves, Guillaume’s face and gore riders for ubers, but are there any weapons I have overlooked which arent totaly impossible to get on ladder like I recon death and grief is? Sry prob some noob questions in here Im just looking for some more pew pew in 8 player games and ubers wep advice if its needed.

OK I guess I have to try and get that. Ive socketed Nord's with a sheal so it also is selfsustaining 4fps like crescent. Feels like I do a little more dmg in the throne room... Im doing 2100-2900 dmg with Nord's and 1100-1300 with Crtescent, but crescent has the static field and Nord's has the ar increase. Cant rly decide which is better though. Oh and another thing... What the hell is up with nihlathak that stingy bastard. Done 50+ runs where I do countess, summoner and nihlathak. Gotten 6 keys of terror, 3 keys of hate and TADA.... 0 Keys of destruction. Damn that guy hates me.

i used nords my first time around with the ubers and it was fine. however, i did have dracs/gores/guillaumes though.

a couple things about your setup.
1-you only have 25% cb as far as i see. you'll prolly want closer to 40%.

2-even more importantly, saracens has ctc IM when struck. you dont want that given you want LT on your target.

3-i think resists, cb, LT are more important than +skill gear/leach and actual weapon damage. i think most of your damage will be dealt via CB and the last bit will be actual smite damage. For this, i've read an elite high base res shield with 4 pdiamonds does the trick. I dont know how much raw damage differs between them, but i think the avg smite damage is 20ish vs 40ish for except/elite pally shields. So even though HOZ has sexier mods, the elite 4 pdiamond gets the job done too. Thats what i did my first time around until I upgreded to an exile.

4-as far as leach goes, any you get from your gear will be piddly compared to LT so i wouldnt trade it for less resist.

Kewl thnx for the pointers mate. Ye my cb is still low and ya I realized how the amu removed the LT so i changed it to oak amu instead. Oh and I need a Pul then for oath :) Oh and btw I have a "black" devil star. Is that better than Nord's since it has 40% CB though half the dmg and crap speed? I also have the runes and a 3 socketed phase blade for another "black". Should I create a black in that instead since I would reach max zeal/smite without other source of ias?

the black devil star has total ias of -5 (+10[baseweapon] -15[ias from stats]). that will require alot of ias gear to get max smite.

i would just stick with nords and not waste resouces on oath since nords has -35 ias total so shael and maybe 15 ias jewel somewhere should max your smite.

i'm not exactly sure though how much more ias is needed so please cross reference somewhere. i think to get to max smite bp with lvl20 fanat is -60 total.

According to ias calc 40% is enough for max smite with at truncheon. So my shaeled Nord's is at 6fpa smite since it has 45% with the sheal. Still wondering about the black in a phaseblade since it would reach 6fpa smite without any ontehr source of ias. One thing I dont understand is why people suggest "Black" in a scourge since you need 25% extra ias for 6 fpa smite compared to a phase Blades 0 extra.

i dunno. so what exactly is the total weapon speed needed for the fastest smite bp with fanat? -60 total? can you link that calculator?

the best weapon choice for ubering is last wish, if you cant afford it get grief, last one in the list is black imo

k and about weps well Im ladder and getting a Lo for grief is beyond me since Countess can only drop ist and I have no idea how to get a Lo except running 559824152784 countess and cubing or getting extremely lucky with hellforge(is it even possible?).

Yes she can but its 1:500000 or something. I was talking about running her for runes she can drop at increased ratio. You might aswell kill alll mobs in envery game 10 times over instead of running her for a Lo
