I was having a problem with my LCS. I just bought a GriefPB (32ias/369dmg), and after equipping it, my LCS says that I have lower all around damage than with my Last Wish pb. Now, I asked plenty a smiter about their onscreen smite damage, and I've been getting answers of 2.5-3k. My onscreen smite damage is only 1099. Something wrong?

Just like you said, it's the LCS (Lying Character Screen). Just try it out and you'll see what damage you can do with Grief.

I'm just curious, and not being rude... Did you just equip it, say "wtf?", then come here? Or did you equip it, kill a few things, and then come here to see what the deal was with the LCS?

I've really always wondered about that because we get like 20 people per week asking the same thing...

When I got made my first Grief, I just put it on, and mowed through most of the game, and did the ubers like 3 times before I noticed my damage was "lower"... However, things were dropping quicker, so I assumed it was a glitch in the game... I came here, and read a few pages of the Uber Guide, and found out I was right... Just curious about everyone else...

No, I didn't say wtf, I went around and killed stuff, but it really didn't seem to me that the Grief made a difference in my damage.

I was killing Blood Moor critters slower with the grief than with my LWPB.

I notice the grief works better for pvp, but I didn't really notice a positive difference in my damage against monsters.

I know the deal about Grief, I understand that one, I was just wondering how people got multi-k damage on their character screen.

2.5-3k damage is only possible when you use combat gcs if you plan on using grief. Also, your shield may make a difference. What shield are you using and what level is your holy shield?

Non-upped HoZ and I'm not quite sure what Holy shield is, but I did max it. I think it to be somewhere around 28.

your actuall dmg is in the 7k range (for average smiter set up), you can use dmg calculator to figure out what exactly is it.

I used the damage calc, and that gave me in the range of 7k.

But I used the smite damage formula, and found that I only got 4k. The damage calc I used doesn't take into consideration the fact you're using a shield to attack.

I've heard that wearing a fort boost damage greatly, perhaps this is why I've been getting 2-3k from other people? They might wear fort, I didn't bother to ask

Fortitude surely helps a lot.

For PVM LW was probably doing better because of crushing blow. Simply add items that grant CB and you'll be fine.

I would think the calculator takes the shield into account , since smite can't be performed withought one.. maybe it uses default shield type such as hoz for the calculations?

It's been some time I didn't play my Paladin, but I'm almost sure the LCS doesn't display the damage increase for Smite when you wear Fortitude aswell...

Okay to calculate your damage its the +damage from grief and holy sheild and the base damage of your sheild. And multiply it by the ed fanatism, points in strength and smite give. I think this was the formula.

Fort's damage bonus isnt that great +skills are better. I rather use a coh/engima. 2.k smite isn't hard to get with no combat gc. 3 k is where you need gcs. And i think lcs displays the ed from fort it just doesnt show the +damage from grief.

Your damage probably is 1 k because of your shield and +skills. +skills boast your damage the most. I would either up your hoz or get an exile in an elite shield and get some more +skills. Try to get above a level 30 smite.

Also you didnt explain if you're pvm or pvp.
