Hi, im rik and ive been confused about this for 4 years and still havnt gotten a good answer.

Lets say you're a fire druid, and u use a 4x fire-faceted monarch sheild.

Thats - 20% enemy fire res.

How does that work? Is there a certain range your enemy has to be in?
Does it show it on the enmies screen? Does it magically "float" over to your enemy? Does it cover the whole map? Or, does it only affect anyone who hosted you automatically?

Thanks.

Edit: If it does effect everyone, would it be more effective to use a 4x firefacet'd sheild, a 4x fire-facetd armor, and a 6x fire faceted phaseblade than hoto/enigma/spirit?

Fire damage takes -20 % enemys fire resistance when you hit it with a fire attack. Does nothing if resistances are stacked.

damage is not everything, you lose mobility, speed (fcr, fhr etc), survivalbility etc. etc..... you will be a easy target and even a bad player will kill you easily.

okay here is how -resist works.

let say if you deal 6000 fire damage and you have -20% enermy fire resist:

if the enermy has 50% fire resist, his resist becomes 30% (50%-20%):

6000x (1-0.3)= 6000x 0.7= 4200 fire damage

the only char where all facets is any good is a foher because they dont need fcr
