Sword or Axe for BvB

Hi im new to the forum and qutie new to 1.11. I played alot when there was alot of buggs n stuff.
Before everybody used swords and now i see people use axes and there is alot talkin bout axes.

My question: Is it beter to wear Axe than sword for some reason or is it the same ****.

Thats because CCB is no longer the king of barb weapon,new runewords changed that.Zerk axe provide more damage than CB,hence makes more sense to use them for runewords like botd/grief.greif being the best.Since grief doesnt take base damage of weapon into account,you can use a grief zweihander if you love swords,will have slightly less damage but more stylepoints & will always hit last ww bp regardless of wias roll of grief.

Your grief cb doesnt hit the last ww bp,since cb needs 39% weapon ias to get there,which will make it a 4frame weapon as opposed to 6frame,it is crucial in pvp.A zerker would get there with 34% wias.Your weapon will not be much effective for dueling :(

sell it and buy a roll a new one or buy one with 39% or you can use a phase blade
which u DO NOT need any ias whatsoever from. a 30% ias grief pb will still hit the last ww breakpoint

crystal looking swords however, dont look stylish at all ;d

I wouldnt recommend a grief-phase blade for ww-range 2 is just not optimum,grief zweihander is top choice for swords.

Typically, zwei is a preferred due to it's low requirements, range 3, and weapon speed. The worst roll speed wise on grief will still yeild max frame speed with ww. Trying to get a 39ias for CB wont be so easy, although you probably already meet the requirements to equip.

Same as your CB. A Superior or Plain 4 socketed (grey item) non- etherial item, With the same runes.

That's correct, It can only be made in ladder.

I have the feeling ur non ladder;), but dont panic just yet. U can trade a grief zweihander ofcourse. But it will not be as 'cheap' as on ladder..

And yeah, if ur a swordbarb, grief zweihander is very nice. Barbs with big swords are just hot

Its really hard to find Grief Cb and even harder Zweihander(never seen one). And if u find someone with CB grief it has to be correct %ias. Damn

a grief cb would be better as it has slightly higher damage but this makes little difference.

base damage on CB is slightly higher, but Zwei will have lower requirements. Its moot if you can already equip a CB

I cant come in in arreat summit, maybe overload on server or something.
And i have hard time with that calculator homesite. I cant put 34%, 36% or something like that in ias.

No, it needs 44.

Swords are more for style vs a little puny looking axe. Now ebotdz(etheral breath of the dying berserker axe) has higher dmg as opposed to an ebotdcb(colossus blade). Swords just look nicer on a barb, and is what I prefer to use. Fort/ebotd is pretty much the most popular build but I also read somewhere on another forum that when calculated a furyzerk/fort actually had the best damage ratio and coming in second was grief/fort. A lot of it is preference. Ebotd and Fury will be the cheapest weapons you can get as opposed to grief which is very expensive on non-ladder. Here is my exact build and I love it, my barb does great the way I made him.

angelic rings + ammy
verdungo's belt
up'd gores
steelrends
various max/ar/life and ar/life charms

If you're fairly poor you can use a "duress" archon plate which can easily be made, with ebotdcb or ebotdz, whichever you prefer, or even a fury berserker axe. You could use a fury balrog blade but bb's have a 185str req so if you're not looking to spend much on str go with a fury berserker axe.
