I've only played through Diablo 2 once, that was in two player coop with an Amazon together with a Sorceress... Not on hardcore and only through the Normal difficulty... But for some reason I got inspired by reading about the game, so I decided to design my own team of characters for a four player coop run through the game on hardcore... Let's see if you experienced players think it would work! =)
The theme of the party is that each character should be a summoner, who relies on his/her conjurations while skirmishing the enemies from a distance:
-The Necromancer is the one who is using the corpses of enemies the most, relying on his skeletons' killing power
-The Amazon, on the other hand, uses her decoy and valkyrie for tanking
-The Druid will probalby use the grizzly the most of the time, as its lack of crowd control is balanced by that of the other summonings and because it doesn't eat up corpses
-The Assassin, having summoing that has only a mere shadow (pun intended) of the other creations' strength acts as a support by also summoning traps
I think these are the pros of my team setup:
-You don't only get one (or more) summoning per player, the summonings also have their hitpoints multiplied by the number of players
-The four characters are very safe behind their summonings and should therefore be able to offer support and take out monsters with physical immunities without really risking their own lives
-Each player won't only get summonings, but also mercenaries which can give the summoned force four different auras!
-Should work pretty good untwinked, I think
-An additional grizzly summoning druid would give even better stunning crowd control while a paladin could strenghten the auras further
So what do you think?? Any improvements that you suggest?? Is there any big weakness I am overlooking?? Please tell!
EDIT:
DAMN! I put the thread in the trading forum, could you please move it to the normal hardcore forum??
EDIT 2:
I designed this team build for friends to play on LAN or private internet games, the summoners can easily fall prey to player killers, I think
