Duels with my friends, esp. Max (*punk_in_drublic), Jakob (*PlumPlum2) and Andre (*Ragnarok.) are always the best duels for me.

Although I do play in pub duels, I dont really enjoy those because the people either suck or they are pseudo-elite and use hacks, even if they dont it's pure bming most of the time.
I know that's what pubs are about but it sucks because skill and how good you are at your character means nothing there.

Because killing higher lvls with a lower level chars is maybe cool, but I personally define good duels exiting and fun duels with people that are good mannered and skilled.
Usually 'good duels' are with people that are more or less equally good.

IMHO killing a higher lvl char is not too hard. I played LLD for a long time and I dont know how many lvl 8x-9x mf chars I killed with my lvl29 zon.

I have 8 dr and all res close to 0 in that setup, if they manage hit me hard once they'll commonly win, so for me it's a constant awareness duel, where I have to evade everything while firing arrows towards the position I predict them to appear.

I out punched a bvc with my dream/chanter.
My most memorable duel was vs a pretty good windy using only fireblast and cloak of shadows.
I once killed a tele on top hoto nigma shako hdin with my level 18 crushflange smiter. Took a while but I got his ear! :grin:

My last string of amazing duels was last ladder season with my lld fb sorc against woodz's necro or crawlingdeadmans plague zon. Ya... by the end of the season trying to kill that zon was one of my biggest pains lol :thumbsup:

On the topic, recently I really enjoyed playing my windy vs Ed's barb.
Best BvC I met so far dueling whom is a challenge. Not like the 99% rest of barb population out there.

i had a duel on my light sorc against a barb that lasted almost 15 minutes> he ended up winning with less than 200 life left because some other noob barb clipped me with a ww while i was teleing and took away half my life

Well I was in a pub game and a windy was nk'ing everyone and I took him out with my hdin. He claimed 3v1 and challenged me to a ft5.

Whilst in this game ft5'ing this windy, I was repeatedly getting a lashing, and he went up 4-1. I finally decided to go back to my liberator roots and throw on a eDeath BA (one of the best libby weapons I've used after grief). Finally came back and won 4-5. The duels themselves weren't very long. But at the beginning of the game the guy trash talked calling me "An ez trash random" and when I beat him all he said was "I was wrong" and left.

That was a good feeling.

p.s. this guy was a major defwhore and the likes, recasting minions at every sight of a wolf under fire.

Agreed, i cheerish those duels so much, you should have tried some of the others from the lld forum, they have some very skilled, nasty chars and they know far more than i did on how to duel with their char than i did mine. All good duels though.

*sigh* i miss my like 20+ some minute duel with woodz and his boner for CDM's contest. Man that was intense.

Best duell i ever had was back in 1.09.
It was zeal vs zeal.
It was allmost a mirrormatch, he was using a Cruel hydra edge of alacrity
with Zod and Eth. I were using a eth Cruel Scourge of swiftnes socket zod and Lo.

All of our duells were really long, we keept leeching all of our life back every time we got a few hits in.... Man, that was some good times.

I just rememberd one i had a few days ago with 2 people from another forum.I was useing a wind druid 1vs.2 against a h-din and bowa.

Whenever i tried to get near the din i got smacked with arrows,killing my minion stack and leaveing me open for the din,after this first happened i stayed back from both of them most of the duel. I finnaly got a good opening on the bowa and took it with great success 1 down 1 to go. I now went after the din with full minion stack :D i guess it got real laggy because i saw him doing a tele animation but not going anywhere, So i jumped on him and got him with a couple nados.

We then went at it again, I caught them both off gaurd standing next to each other spammed a few nados their way and tele'd off,Right after i was out of danger i see:

My favorite duels was Temple and GI duels in .09

Some of those highlights were (all while using my vt)

Temple:
VT duels
versus hammerdins (back when you actually needed skill to kill with them and balance them out, and not just run around thinking youre good by spamming)
versus any variant with a good player using it. Some highlights were ranger chargers, charge foh, etc.

GI:
Team duels 3v3 or 4v4, back when barbs were WW/throw hybrids, when zons had the most incredible charms and gear (although duped), and necros couldnt teleport. These were really where you could tell the people who had skill, and again, was not just a random teleport fest hoping for spam and chugging mana pots to win.


Out of all those duels, I have always wanted to repeat .09 VT vs VT duels. Took so much patience, skill, timing, reflexes...

Another one was dueling versus barbs and their javs that back then did huge damage. The way those barbs were built was insane, and the duels were always incredibly close, and very very fun.

Another Best Dool!

Against oilerfan..

A rematch of our Liberator vs. Fury/Rabies.

We played 3 sets of ft5. Best out of 3 obviously.

1st set:

At first I used my regular hammerdin setup (max damage) against Oiler's fury setup. Lost the 2 first duels and won the 3rd. Oiler switched out to rabies gear and went 3 in a row to take the set. Tele'ing failed me.

2nd set:

Switched out my Hoto for a eDeath Berserker Axe but kept my enigma for a quick tele. Went up 3-0 in this set utilizing my high charge damage. He switched to from fury to rabies and took the next duel making it 3-1. Switched out my enigma for CoH and went 5-1. Tying up the sets.

3rd set: Oiler went back to his fury setup. I made no changes. Until this point I hadn't utilized desynch, or hadn't found a need to. Oiler using but his oak for summoning, I went up 3-1. He started using his wolves which reduced my effectiveness at getting at his oak with charge and getting close enough to hammer effectively. 4-3 at this time. The final duel I went out full offensive and charge'd until I found an opening to drop a few hammers, smite him back and continued charging. Eating many furies I managed to win this last duel. 5-3.

By far the best dool I've had up until now.

I've had something like that happen before, only my shadow punched a townguarding es sorc. They do have a nasty habit of mindblasting and dflighting hapless naked duelers too.

I think some of my favorite matches with my ghost have been vs:
hammerdins - these are such an uphill battle, you have to be tight with your locks and whirls, a small slipup or two and it's pretty much over.
bone necros - chasing down defensive, slippery bone necros is something I've still yet to master but getting the hang of it has been fun.
ww/trap hybrids - keeping them locked or whirling and forcing them to trade whirls or even getting clips while dodging traps is fun. Also hybrid vs hybridsin duels are fun when you start throwing your traps in their fields. :laugh:

2v6 duel game but instead when I entered game, 6 were partied and hostiled me right away lol.

I had my lvl 94 barb dueler, prebuffed and enchanted.

All 6, 2 hammerdins, 2 smiters, a bvc, and a windy, were tging of course and the other dead peep was screaming bloody murder and how his account is > then all theirs. So I sat at the bridge and waited for a break to slip out into the open rogue.

Finally did with all of them chasing me. I'm not a nigma dueler.
I wwed into the open, chugging blues when I needed to, and already dmged a couple along the way. Hammerdin trys to tele stomp while me in ww motion and bang he goes down. Start swerving right and both smiters go down as they chased me trying to hack away at me with smite. I went back and WW'ed Bvc and he goes down and finally right throw the druid has he teled in front of me to double up with barb. Druid dies. Last Hammerdin teled off to Akara.

The rogue was reclaimed!!! :grin: hehe.

2 minutes later the game dropped. Go figure. :scratch:

It was quite a rush to see 5 of 6 bm dueler's on the message screen, felled by me. And I was still at 1/3 life woot!

my most favorite duel was in a public gm zeal vs zeal game. but, we all know in that caster type chars will join melee games about 99% of the time. well, in this game 2 trapper and a javazon joined. needless to say, those three hostile all the zealots (which i think they were 4 of us inculding mine) and of course the trappers placed traps right outside the town. so, i was just went to my stash and went overboard with light resist and some light absorb stuff, which imo is not bm especially when casters joins melee game. and at the end zealed/charge all three of them to death one after the other with out potting nor going back to town to heal. which i think they werent expecting someone with high resist for a melee char in a melee game :). after that the they just got nk'ed over and over again by a the other zealot until they left.

well, i just enjoy killing elemental type caster when they enter melee games.

Too many to remember ~_~. Mostly 4v4s though, all of the old d2pk games and like wsN vs EaK or, later on, the mighty TEAM FAGGOTS vs venom ^^.

Also any duels I used to have with one particular friend of mine (not a user of this forum, though maybe max or someone from "back then" knows of chris of SS- fame) no matter what the chars we were using.
