Arreats Vs Coa

That's pretty much it. However, this does not make Arreat's better than CoA. Personally, I use CoA versus nearly anything because I cannot bother to swap over to Arreat's for a sorc or something. Usually, swapping from CoA to Arreat's is only worth it if you need the +stats.

Simple answer: Arreats is better vs anything that you don't need dr% for.

Primary instances where I use CoA are windies and smiters.

or good bowazons, but you can actually get away with using ss/arreats (even though ur full vit) bowzons get owned with anything max block, with your huge life and weak but affective blocking with dr%, you'll almost never lose

this is just theorycrafting but i don't like arreats that much because it's just a helm that helps your stats a bit. If you dont need the dr anyway, wouldnt a circlet with visionary mod, 2 os, stats and fcr be better?

a circlet is best if you can find one with visonary, 2 barb 20fcr str/dex all resist

yeah like i was saying, every time i used arreats was just cause i had nothing better, you can't really feel a difference in the damage or anything. Something with fcr on your head like an 08 valk which has run/walk too can help you catch people and i know guillaumes has deadly strike.

what about a jewlers of the magus with rare jewels with res, ar and %ed in them?

Rares get 3 prefixes and 3 suffixes IIRC.

Skill - Prefix
AR - Prefix (Visionary)
Stats - Both STR/DEX are suffixes
Resist - Prefix
Faster Hit Recovery <-- Very important, has 30 like CoA - Suffix

If you want FCR, that would add a 4th suffix.

If you don't want Visionary, there's no way you'll get up to a 20% AR bonus with an AR prefix/suffix.

You would need to use a Shael to reach the same FHR BP, losing the socket.

Not to mention Arreats is probably 100x cheaper, and the above circlet can't exist if you want FCR.

Therefore, there's no point to the circlet unless you want to drop some of Arreats' vital stats for FCR.

i suggest atm that you use arreats for casters (specially for hdin since you'll need the AR) and maybe a vamp gaze for melees, maybe ss/arreats too (unless its a smiter)

i just got my hands on a 12%dr 2os CoA and it works GREAT even without the ber ber, i only have 1 ber atm tho

08 valk or griff if you're looking to break 63 fcr [of course you have to make up resists somewhere else, but if it's a nec or a fire sorc then probably not]

CoA should be more likely ur primary helm in a pub as it covers u from mele due to dr and still sports res.

Arreat is good vs caster which can also aid u in using widow due to stats

Guilemes face is another good helm to use vs caster providing u can get the res stack from other places.

coa is the only mainhelmet on a bvc...
You need the dr, and it also adds alot of resssis, important fhr and 2 sox ofc
(well 1 skill for bo)
Arreatz should be mostly used vs casters (vs sorcs+necro you should rather go for a valk 08 if you can pay it, and vs hdins its sometimes nice to use a gullis)...
All in all, Coa tops arreatz as mainhelmet , since the dr is just too important
