For general purposes, how much res is enough?
I usually go for 205 on fire/psn, don't worry about cold because it seems to be the easiest to get for some reason, and 300 light with enough extra res charms in the stash to negate conviction if it's actually needed.
It actually depends on your character.

Well, of course, having a total of 205 resistances on each character with anyas is pretty much common sense due to Anya bug. Of course, some people like to have some more due to facets. However, unless you don't want to change gear, I see no point in huge amounts of 20/5's. For example, the most +allres from charms that I could ever see a BvC having would be 40 + 20 + 50 for a total of 110.
However, you spoke of 205 resistances when the OP talks about "stacked resistances". This could easily lead people into believing that you like having a total of 380 all res. Which just isn't realistic on any character. Even with 37x 20/5's and perfect torch and annihilus you are only looking at 225 All res. Still needs another 155.

well its tough to get maxed res on a bowazon for one.
ususally if you want to stack do 150 light with set up for 200 vs foher, 340 vs blizzer.
It hugely depends on your char
As someone using a full inventry of life/res scs will have a much better time stacking than someone with using a inventry of skillers.
I personally find looking across board that 50+ all res stack is nice to have so after annaya ur still comfortably in max res but again this depends as on ama or something its is harder a stated and u sacrifce quite abit of dmg to get max res and abit of stack

Yeah, umm, I don't think many people think like that. At least I hope not. When you throw around big numbers people are usually smart enough to assume that's the max amount from the minimum.

Bowa is the exception for me, my bowa runs with about 50 res I believe.:tongue:

Weapon damage characters usually have a tough time stacking. Or at least a harder time. Not sure on them.
But for casters,
about 205 (total res, counting anya, not counting penalties)
is enough for max res.
so I'd say about 50 more for fire in general, though sorb/max res is pretty easy to stack for them, so you could try that.
about 100 for cold just to stop CM usually, try thawing potions for bming them.
about 100-200 for lightning, try sorb or 11 charms or shield switching for them to bm.
and about 50 for poison, try antidotes. :rolleyes:
