quick question - bec de corbain

which weapon class is bec the corbain? I think it's a polearm?
Polearms are number 4? (from left to right, top to bottom)

A polearm is baisically an axe on a long pole. You chop with a polearm. A spear, you stab with.

yea, very cool, but Im using a localized version of diablo II and I have no clue which picture presents a polearm (the names in my language dont make any sense at all)

With the main question (hopefully) being answered, allow me to hyjack this thread. :)

Anybody know a fun build for a 255-ish Bec ? I was thinking either Charger, Zealer or perhaps WW barb.
Though I already have an exec zealer, martel zealer and a Grim Scythe zealer, so I'd prefer something else. I also already have a host of WW barbs and rescently finished a bvc lancer, so I'm probably not going to go WW barb route.
I can't see a conc or bezerk barb working well without a shield, so that's probably not my direction either. Even though the damage would be fun, I can't really see a venger working ok without a shield either.

Feel free to suggest odd builds, as long as they are not entirely pointles. For example I won't stick it on a Orbsorc. :)

if becs have a range of 5 (I'm not sure), you could try a jumping barb perhaps.

my advice however, would be to scrap the idea of your BvC using a spear and use the bec instead. Then you could make a jab or fend amazon using the spear :-)

yes, English is my second language
most diablo items are called using their English names everywhere and the barb mastery skills are translated pretty poorly ("polearms" would be something like "wood weapons", perhaps it's the correct translation, but personally I have never heard such a word thus I knew that a bec is a polearm, but I didnt know if it would go for this mastery or perhaps the spear mastery)

The BvC isn't an idea, he's level 80 and just requires some field testing.
But you know me, I usually just go PvM rather then duel.

I just tried out a concentrate barb in singleplayer.

Maxed out conc, BO, shout, iron skin, few in mac mastery, using a gg Battlehammer, pSkulled. Damage was ok looking - around 800-1200. Defence was 13k after hitting with conc.

But I put one point in ww, just to compare damage. lvl 2 ww killed faster than lvl 21 conc with 200% extra ed from it's synergy, BO. And it leaches better, hits more enemies, and is funner to use.

So much for a nice unique build...doesn't look like you should make one of these for your bec. A zon jabbing with a nice lance could get around the same max damage, and much higher with 60%+ crit strike added in. And passives, valk, etc...

I just had to post to this 'old thread'. A friend of mine found a truly Godly Bec on Europe Classic ladder. While becs are becs are becs and will remain a bec, i still would purchase it from him if i still had idle sojs in my possession. Anyway, the beast is just ridiculous. Dont remember all the stats, but i'm very confident the main stats were close to as follows. Anyway, it reached way over 260 dmg, which is a lot for a Bec :shocked:

16 max dmg
-30 req

Other stats on it were of equal quality on their own. Just dont remember them anymore, since i saw it only for like 2 seconds before i had to quit for the night due to a sudden arrival of my woman (hates diablo).

Imagine those stats on an exec or martel. It would be a thing of beauty. Pure art.

Indeed that is close to the max. I'd like to see that bec. Not that I have SoJs on Ladder, but it's just nice to see extreme weapons like that.

That should be easy to arrange. Just make a hell game on europe. Offer sojs and ask for a kicky bec. I'm sure he cant resist the urge to show up and display his beck :laugh:!

Anyway, it was 0nly 20 ias if remember correctly. He is willing to trade it but turned down 2 sojs and a kicky bonehelm (thats the c/o), he will bin it at 4 sojs the last i heard. People just love to gaze at it and see those stats for real. I can also ask him if its okay to him that i pm his account to you so u can arrange a meeting.

Sad to admit that i did not obtain it. Did not get out bidded, but lost a duel 3-2 -> winner got the trade... :cry:
