I recently lost my LoD disc (hehehe) so i have decided to migrate to classic. wipee. WELL my favorite character was always the energy sorc. The idea was to have energy shield at a high enough level that nothing (save poison) could possibly hurt you. The max absorption possible is 95%, at energy shield level 40. the last 5% was covered by mods such as -x damage taken or whatever it is.

to the point.

Is it possible to reach energy shield level 40 without all the fancy runewords and charms? thanks for the help, even though I'm more than half-convinced it won't work.

you can get +2/3 eshield staff
2x soj
tarn
silk
2 amulet

which would mean +11 skills
perhaps battle command for +12

so - level 32

yeah 31 is what i thought.
well considering i could get a barb to play with that means level 32 and 87% absorb :/

even though i can't get poisoned and run around with 1 health anymore, i guess its fine!

With a skill shrine you can get another +2
Skill shrines should be easy enough to find for a sorc in the blood more or cold plains.

a giant, synergized energy shield, coupled with high rep, and maxed warmth equals quite the tank in classic. the only problem, is that it doesn't leave a lot left over for a meaningfully quick kill spell. Orb is really the only real choice, perhaps coupled with 1 in static for rushing/mfing, but dueling with an unsynergized orb is a bit of a lesson in patience...

the purpose of which, I cannot fathom at the level required to have a fully synergized energy shield.

PvP you'd get punked with a quickness, even with all of that damage going to mana

pvm with no crowd control? no thanks.

While that may be the WORST suggestion I've ever heard for a fully synergized EShield Sorc, I have to give you props for making me laugh. :laughing:
