I've seen a few people using ATMA and various other mods and was wondering which mods Blizzard allow and disallow as i've known people getting banned in the past for using things like map hack.

Like, in WoW... it would come up on the screen saying ''blizzard don't allow use of this addon blabla please disable it bla bla'' or whatever if you used a dodgy one... i assume you don't get any such warning here and a dodgy addon would result in an instant account ban if caught?

So how do we know which ones are safe to use and which aren't?

ATMA is for single player only.

Basically, if you play online, here is the rule to follow.

NO MODS AT ALL. PERIOD. FULL STOP.

Thats all there is to it. Single player they dun give a crap about what you do.

Pretty much what he said,

ATMA is a SP mod that allows for mass muleing, and it can also be used to send mule trades via Email.

As for online play and to be more specific, online in the closed realms like Europe, UsEast, UsWest, etc. No mods are allowed, and account bans will happen. On Open and SP however what you do with your game on your own comp is your concern. Some mods are simple while others completely change gameplay.

Af sor WoW, third party mods, or add ons are allowed. But the add ons used in WoW are a completely different thing from those in DII.

Mods enhance your gameplay, adjusts the game play to your liking.

Sure I see the reason for banning mods like duping, etc. but having a nicer interface or macro mods would also be nice too.

Single player they dun give a crap about what you do.

If you want to MP/Trade here, however, we *do* care what you do.

Rune word mod enables realm only runewords and red rune mod turns the runes red. These are the only two legitimate SP mods allowed in the MP/trade pool and it should be clearly identified that you use them.

Atma and GoMule are pretty much expected for SP muling.

If you want any other mod, keep it on your own hard drive and separate from any other character/items with which you trade/MP.

May I suggest you try the WoW forum if you want support on those Mods.

blizzard recognized that and designed WoW to be able to do that. Diablo 2 is an older game and not designed that way.

Fair enough, i wouldn't risk my D2 account by using mods, I just think that blizzard should be open to suggestion of updating the game a bit, in this aspect.
