Hi, im new to this game and i was wondering about the skillpoints. I noticed that you might get skillpoints from a rewarditem or from a drop that a questboss is dropping. What if i join a party that makes complete quests wile i am in the city doing other things. Do i still get the extra skillpoint even if i dont pick up the questitem? Can i complete a quest without getting a reward?

You cant complete a quest without getting a reward.
In regards to the book Radament drops, you wont get the skill just staying in town. You need to go and pick it up.
Some quests you do get in town, cain for example. You just need to talk to a bunch of people to get it completed.

If you are in the same act as the others and someone is at the scene of the quest who needs the quest as well, everybody in the party will get the quest solved as well, even those in town. However, if it needs an item per party member to complete it, you have to pick it up and use it as well.

BTW, if you kill Radament, the quest is solved. The book of skills isn't a part of the quest, as it doesn't drop when Radament dies (the Horadric sroll drops on his death), but when you open the chest next to him. You can sneak up to the chest and take the book without killing Radament.

Just wondering, what would happen if someone did the Radament quest in your game, but you didn't pick up the book?

The quest is 'Kill Radament' -> 'Speak to Atma for a reward' I think?

So if you spoke to Atma, would the book be lost for ever, or would it drop next time you killed Radament?

The +skills book will appear if you open the chest, but you neither have the book nor did you read one from the difficulty level. Radament, Atma or the quest has nothing to do with it. That means if the quest is solved, but you didn't pick up the book, you can do that at a later time. You also don't have to kill Radament to get the book dropped.

Did i understand this right:

If i completed the quest but did not pick up the book i can still pick it up later in another game with another party?

That's bascially what krischan said yes.

Personally I've never tried this as I always pick up the book in the same game Radament is killed.

Oh right, the book comes from the chest, not Radament himself? First time I've noticed!

Radament drops the Horadric Scroll. The book is in the chest. Don't ask me what the quest log will show when you don't take the book. I've never left it there so far :azn:

I'm pretty sure it is the book that is dropped by Radament.

Indeed, it is the book that Radament drops ;)

Are there any other items that give a permanent boost in atributes or skilllevel? If so, are they questitems?

You get a skill point off a quest in act 1, another from Radament's book, If I remember right 2 from Act 4 quest, after Izual is killed. The Lam Essen's Tome quest in Act III, the Golden Bird in Act III, and The Resist Scroll in Act V.

Been a while for me and my memory of fuzzy on that.

Act I: Den of Evil (1st), gives a skill point
Act II: Atma quest (1st), book from Radament gives a skill point
Act III: Golden Bird (1st), gives 20 life from potion
Black Book (4th?) gives 5 stat points
Act IV: Izual (1st), gives 2 skill points
Act V: Save Anya (3rd), gives +10 resistance to all from scroll

Yes. I've noticed on *some sites* that offer to build characters, they include the '6 most important quests':

Den of Evil (+1 Skill point)
Radament's Lair (+1 Skill point)
The Golden Bird (+20 Life)
Lam Esen's Tome (+5 Stat points)
The Fallen Angel (+2 Skill points)
Prison of Ice (+10 All Res)

no, Radament drops the book, the chest drops the scroll.
