More partied people in a game = better drops?

So i realize that more people in a given game means more experience... however im confused whether more people affects monster equipment drops? Many people solo in order to get items yeah? So id hope they have as much chance alone (and not worring about other people taking the items) to get good drops then with other people around but i dont know...

you don't get better drops, you get more drops.

You have a higher chance at better drops, because there are more drops, but the number of players doesn't effect the quality of items directly.
