Merc not leveling.

My merc has been stuck at lvl 83 for a long long while now.. and i've been doing hell runs after runs from all over the places...
anyone know why that is?
not sure if this matters.. but hes got griswolds armor (3 pft topazs) and tal's helm. Maybe magic find makes him unable to lvl?

ahh i mite of figured it out.. im lvl 83 and so is the merc... maybe i have to be a higher level than the merc to lvl up?

You are correct, the merc cannot be a higher level than you. Once you level up, the merc should level up fairly quickly if not immediately
