What are keys??

So i JUST registered and i am not sure where to find info about the question above but im seeing references to KEYS... what does this mean/what are keys? i.e. wirts leg for cow lvl?

sry if this is a silly question answered somewhere else but i searched the forums for 'keys' and didnt get anything

there are 3 keys. destruction, terror, and hate. each must be found in hell difficulty.
terror drops from countess
hate drops from summoner
destruction drops fron nihlathak

you need 3 keysets, 1 keyset being one of each key. by transmuting them, you open 3 portals. matrons den, forgotten sands, and i forgot the 3rd one. lilith (who looks just like andariel, but much deadlier), duriel, and izual are in them, respectively. kill them to get the organs of the 3 prime evils.

after that, transmute the 3 organs and you get a portal to tristram, but it's not normal. you have to defeat all 3 prime evils, and its no walk in the park. however, if you manage to defeat them, you get a hellfire torch. its a charm that adds 3 to class skills, 10-20 attributes and 10-20 resistances. (there are other stats but those 3 are the most notable)
this is known as "ubers"

you just answered my next question that was 'who are the ubers'.

My next question is a bit wierd. What is the max damage ever done/ recorded in one hit/spell. Im talking about a range (including posion dam and stuff)... like with all this stuff about uber's and crazy crafted /full set weapons what is the max damage range look like now. I remeber that 2000+ dam a hit was considered pretty damn good.... and i didnt know any skill could get above 20 pnts even with eq... now you can have a nuts lvl 30 firewall??

You can get skills pretty high with +skill gear... something like 54 is the highest you can get most skills. There is a thread somewheres in the stats forums with screenshots of high damages, upwards of 200k.

Posion Javelin holds the record, combined with Venom and some crazy gear you can get ~500 000 damage if the javelin itself hit a target. The damage becomes even more crazy if you count in the negative resists monster will get from your equipment.
