Merc weapon for summon necro

What should i use? Infinity for mages and -def or Pride for the concentration aura?

I'd say pride. It's mostly your physical people like normal skellies and the merc that do the most damage anyways (at least in my case).

Pride on a Might Merc. Faith Act1 Merc is a close second, and Infinity Might Merc at a distant 3rd.

Pride+Might = the most damage to aid your summons with

Faith = merc dies less and still gives great bonuses to summons with ias/damage/ar

Infinity = enemies lower defense. This is all it is good for on a summoner becaue your CE needs no help, and mages damage with conviction is still marginal. Mages are for additional meat shields, poison stopping monster healing, and for help killing phys immunes. Since amp damage makes 99% of all phys immunes killable, conviction to help mages is not needed.

Insight on Prayer Merc is an honerable mention if you plan on using Beast as a primary weapon, as you can CE/tele/curse/raise minions to your hearts content, while healing everyone/yourself extreemly fast.

If you plan on taking on ubers or dclone, I'd go with infinity all the way. The mods on it are just too hard to pass up, 40% crushing blow, prevents monster heal, and the conviction aura not only lowers resistance which makes mages and CE more effective, but also lowers defense which will make your skeles and merc miss a lot less. The benefits of infinity far outweighs the benefits of pride and faith IMO.

Infinity is for real pro necros that know what they are doing. With Infinity, my summoner could solo Baal without even summoning. It adds a ridiculous amount of killing speed to your merc and maxed CE.

If you haven't a clue how to hotkey your curses and CE, than just use pride or something to watch your summons slowly kill all.

My level 93 summoner uses a might merc with Infinity and I carry a Beast for the added fanaticism aura. Best of both worlds. My merc and my skels are damn near invincible.

I do the same thing...I agree. The only thing that ever slows me down is Oblivion Knights. Everything else is crushed under my 25+ army of skeles and mages.
