A Call To Arms for those daring to play in a cooperative, reset-style group environment, untwinked, from Act 1 Normal to Hell Baal, hardcore, in one sitting. Original thread (http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=577049).

*** CTA Round #2 Date Selection: Vote for EACH DAY you're available; you can select more than one day!!! ***
DO NOT VOTE UNLESS YOU ARE 100% SURE YOU WILL BE THERE FOR THE ENTIRE 10am–10pm EST SESSION.
No-shows will be permanently blacklisted. The date with the most votes by Wednesday, August 8th or first date with 12+ signups, whichever comes first, will be the CTA Round #2 date (this is for AgentMarth, who is ready to roll this Sunday, August 5).
TIME: 10AM - 10PM Eastern Standard Time, excepting a majority veto. Roughly 12 hours (likely less). Round #1 was a doozy because we refused summoners and teleporters. Round #2 is the round of the cookie monster.
TEAM: Predefined characters, as per the learnings of CTA Round #1 (http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=577819&). Please know how to play/develop your build untwinked in hardcore; don’t be a burden. No duplicates.
1. Summoner Necromancer
2. Enchant/Firewall or Enchant/Meteor Sorceress
3. Orb/TK/teleport Sorceress
4. Blizzard/TK Sorceress
5. Lightning Trap Assassin
6. Lightning Javelin Amazon
Remaining 2 slots will be some combination of:
Fire Claw or Fury Druid; Concentrator, Berserker, or Frenzy Barbarian; Cleric, Hammerdin, or Conviction Zealot Paladin; whatever's clutch
*** Please be aware that team selection is heavily rigged in favor of previous CTA reserves that showed up but didn't get to play, friends, veteran members, and those who've contributed significant time and knowledge to these forums.***
Please DO NOT sign up if you lack:
- commitment, or you think you can only stay for 9 hours (expectation is 12… nobody likes a flake)
- a very stable internet connection, because ‘oops keke my wireless died’ every 5 minutes makes you a useless, absentee player
- maturity and a good attitude, because you can’t fake it and we're spending a day together
- teamwork and sharing, since playing well with others is essential
- experience, because you’d better be used to hardcore and know how to develop/play your build untwinked; this is neither easy nor a learning session
- dedication, because this is all or nothing, baby

Edit - I was going to jump right in and say Im good for this .. I forgot my wife wants to go to Six Flags with the kids this weekend . Im not sure if shes talkign Saturday or Sunday .. Let me find out then I'll respond ..

Folks who sign up are be expected to post to confirm their "in-ness" during the 2 days preceding the actual event.
Gets dii.net a bit more traffic, makes the group more confident of your presence. Go team!

I'm in the process of moving and setting myself up for new job so I probably won't be able to make any of the days listed as far as I know. However, I'll be happy to give help for anyone who chooses to play as a conviction cleric ^^;.

Sundays are best for me, so I voted for those, although I could do as Saturday with enough notice. I have this Sunday off if we even could do it that fast. I was really disappointed that I got stuck working last round, but that was a fluke, this time I want to be a part of it.
I would choose from that list the Orb/TK/teleport Sorc. I have enough experience rushing and using one (I loved my one last season, a tank she was) that it shouldn't be a problem for me to be the main porter. That, and I know alot of the map patterns so that makes porting faster.
If not, I could do something else, just so long as its not a melee build.

Hey Ranti, congratulations! Way to go! So what kind of job did you get (which firm?) and where are you moving to? I'm assuming banking/consulting/top six accounting since they're a) flying you out for training [deduced from Utopia posts] and b) paying you enough to actually relocate.
I would choose from that list the Orb/TK/teleport Sorc.
Great! The Orb/TK/teleport sorceress (http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=557123) is the most important build (for keeping the session a reasonable length). Knowing WSK layouts backwards (in Russian) and understanding blind teleport survival setups are key. I was half-worried that I'd end up having to play her (Zzzz). Haha.

Naw, i'll play her just fine!
I loved mine, shes was absolutely, without a doubt, my safest character last season, I even ended up doing Baal solo quite a bit with her. She could do anything I wanted her too. I'll just cross my fingers for a Wizzy and Viper. However, I think I will put some more into teleport this time around for the lower cost.
And I love that guide, you did an incredible job on it.

Thanks, but most of credit should go to dii.net/Amazon Basin folks like Mouse_Wiz, Phattrumpet, SSoG, soepgroente, CoonerTheRed, HP_Sauce, Full_Circle etc + countless others who pitched in a significant amount of information for me to prattle around with. I just distilled and compiled. : )
Over the years, I've probably built 20+ iterations of the Orb/TK build (every time I unretired). I've play and build-tested maybe 90% of the intelligent stuff you'll read if you search the hardcore forums for "frozen orb".

Actually, it's an engineering consulting firm out in Highland, Indiana. They deal primarily with railroad applications (like a device that converts semi trailers into railway cars...lower costs of shipment then and less hassle). I actually just drove down here to Indianapolis where the training class is at (I'm posting during my lunch break actually xD), since I'm just north of Chicago anyways. I'd say they're paying me enough to relocate (so it's not a 2 hr commute :P)...like around $51k/year for first 6 months ^^;.
Once I find a 'permanent' home (ie apartment) and get my belongings moved and a connection setup, I think I'd be more inclined for some D2 HC action :). I'm just not sure when that will be xD.
I'm good for basically anything time-wise.
Ideal one for me would be Saturday the 11th simply because the girlfriend is going on an arch dig and won't be around to judge me then :)
I'm definitely in though and will figure out which build depending on other people's demands.

I'm pretty sure I can do the 11th. I'm not too sure about the 19th.
If I do this I'd like to go with the summoner necro build or the frenzy barb.
I'm game. Willing to play any of the chars. Give me a boring one that others wouldn't want to play. That probably means conc barb or conv pally.
I can't make all those dates though, so I'll get back to you when you settle in on one. All Sundays are bad and I'm out of town Sat 18th.

I'd like to play either a Conviction Zealot (started SC ladder with an avenger, want to compare it to zeal w/wand), or a fury druid, or maybe the enchant/firewall sorc.

If you've never played HC before or are unfamiliar with it; this is not a good idea for you. No offense; it's just two different worlds, and it takes time to get familiar with a) hardcore lifestyle b) playing untwinked hardcore lifestyle. It's a can of worms you shouldn't be at until you've made and killed a coupla guardians, in my opinion. If I've somehow misunderstood, pardon.

And if you sell a FCR ring in act1 norm instead of dropping it in town, you will be severely flogged. I even saw life charms sold at the vendor last time lol. If you need 1k gold that bad, mule it into the game when Socialism isn't looking instead of selling that blue ring :P
I stand by my choice, who needs 10 FCR in norm a1?
And we found like 7 more fcr rings.

This is one of the coolest and most fun ideas I have heard about in Diablo2, I will know if I am around next weekend alittle later this week. I am about 75% sure I will be, and if I am I can go 12+ hours straight no problem, I would really look forward to this

The 11th my Girl will be out of the house from 7 am till midnight.
So that's clearly my front-runner (no judgment)
I should be able to do most of them though, I believe we're planning by like Wednesday to have a date picked and be doing a team selection thread, so be ready.

Like I said, I'll gladly take the ES/Orber.
I forgot how hard they are to start solo with though, a friend of mine started the drug, er, I mean game, so I told him I'd start with him (SC unfortunately) and with it just being the 2 of us, and him not really knowing how to play, its taking me WAY to long to get to 24. I just want Blizzard to hold me over until 30.....
Well, with our group, we're working out a set up so that up until 30 we have necro/zon/sin/possibly baba to beat things up + mercs, so we'll need f. nova and static to speed things up, with some glacial.
Once we hit 30 though, we're all leeching off you :)

Thanks to everyone who took the time to vote/post here, even if you aren't able to join us.
I did say I'd hold off on date selection until Wednesday, but I wanted to give a little more notice so people could find out/adjust their schedules and plan for it.
We seem to have a strong push for the Round #2 date. Call To Arms - Round #2 is set for Saturday, August 11th, 10:00AM - 10:00PM EST.
