I am playing single player SC 1.11b.

I am thinking about making a barb centered around crushing blow.

I have Goblin Toe boots, 2 Crushflanges and a helmet with CB as well but the name escapes me.

Obviously, the plan is to get as much CB as possible.

I have some questions to make this a good build.

1. Are there better weapons than Crushflange or should I just up them as I go?
2. I was thinking Frenzy as main attack. Would you recommend something else?
3. Dual wield or weapon/shield?

I would put 20 in BO, 20 in Frenzy, 20 in weapon mastery (depending on what weapon I use if not Crushflange) and max 2 of its synergies. I would put 1 in Berzerk for PI's.

This will be a somewhat twinked build using ATMA. I will also wear Laying of Hands but have not decided on the rest of equipment.

I was thinkg dual wield, no energry, enough str. for equipment, some in dex and the rest in vit.

Any suggestions or criticisms are welcome. Thank you for the help!

For some reason I'm totally feeling the whole Frenzy + Taunt combo with two 'Black' Flails (Thul Io Nef... IAS, knockback, and 40%CB), but maybe I'm just going crazy in my old age.

That is better than 2 Crushflangesfor sure.

I like that idea with Goblintoes.

Read ashhousewares guide for frenzy barbs. Very good, well written guide. Concentrate on crushing blow and deadly strike and those little frenzy guys are wrecking balls. I would consider maxing double swing and Taunt, as they are both synergies of frenzy.

I have read that guide and it is very good. Thank you for the help.

I have a question about mace mastery.

Is it strictly for maces only or does it also apply to mauls? What about clubs?

I read the description of mace mastery on battle.net and it only says maces so I wasn't sure.

Mauls are maces (i'm 99% sure) so ya it works.

Is it strictly for maces only or does it also apply to mauls? What about clubs? All of those are mace class weapons. All maces, clubs, hammers, mauls, and even flails are part of the mace class. Although if you go with two 'black' weapons that obviously eliminates mauls as a choice.

It made sense to me that it included ALL non-bladed melee weapons but I was not sure.

I have always gone sword mastery in the past which is a lot more obvious.

I wanted to go mace this time but thought I should make sure before throwing away 20 points.

Thanks for the input.

20 mace mastery
20 taunt
20 double swing
20 Frenzy
20 Battle Orders

Also, 1 point in various other skills. OK, this is too many points. Which of the above am I better off not maxing?

Any input?

Taunt and/or double swing. They provide the same damage increase to frenzy, and you'll still get good damage without maxing both/either. I'd say only pump double swing until you get the mana cost down to zero. That happens around level 8-10. The primary purpose of using Taunt works just as well at level 1 as it does at level 20.

I'd recommend maxing mace mastery, frenzy, and battle orders. Get double swing to the point where it is a mana free skill. Get all your prerequisites and one point wonders. I'd also recommend a few in war cry. After you do all that, then go back to taunt and double swing with whatever points you have remaining.
