Hello everyone, I can't remember the last time I sat down and seriously played D2. But I picked it up the battle chest today at my local retailer and have started a necromancer. Back when I played I remember being a summoning necro was pretty much out of the question, but I was always in love with having an army of the undead to kill things for me. :)

I hear with 1.10 that summoning skeletons and whatnot has become more useful. Well I searched the boards and found a good 'fishymancer' post, but I'm not sure if it is up to date, and I don't want to follow a guide that will leave me gimped with synergies and whatnot. I would like to know if anyone could post up their build, or link me to a current one, or tell me if the one that I was reading is current! I'm just lost when it comes to what to put points in to besides the obvious skeleton mastery and summon skeleton, and I have NO idea how stat points need to be distributed.

Thanks in advance!

And this is the guide I was referring to. http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=349093

Most fishymancers have stats as

Str - Just enough to carry your heaviest equip
Dex - None, unless you want to max block
Vit - Everything else
Energy - None

And skills wise,
20 Raise Skel
20 Skel Mastery
1+ Skel Mage
1+ revive
1+ clay golem
1+ blood golem
1+ iron golem
1+ golem mastery
1-5+ Summon resist

1 Teeth
10-20 Corpse Explode

1+ in curses of choice. Mainly Amp dmg, decrep, and dim vision are the main ones.

The thing about the fishymancer is it leaves up a lot of space for customization after you hit the 20 skel&skel mastery.

And the good thing about this, is unless they are stone skin AND physical immune, you can break the physical immunes with Amp Dmg. And I mainly use Decrepify for super uniques like Duriel, meph, big d, and baal. (Hell, andy in NM as well.)

You should also have dim vision for those nasty Lightning shooters in NM and hell.

If any of the build is wrong, someone please correct me. As I don't remember off hand the exact build of a fishymancer. Just kinda what I based mine off of

I also maxed out skel mages, just because I had the extra skill points, and didn't see anywhere else to put em =p. They aren't bad. But they could be a lot better.
