View Full Version : just how bad is inferno??
anyone out there ever used fully maxed and synergised inferno?? i know people say its a bad skill but how bad when its fully loaded with lets say +16 skills and an infinity merc just to deal with cold immunes.....any feedback would be greatly appreciated thx
IIRC inferno works at 1/3 efficency, however i've never tested how efficient a fully synenergized inferno is, but, I can't imagine it being a THAT bad of a skill.

I doubt that, Inferno is a completely forgotten skill, someone has surely tried it.

I have no clue whatsover inferno has to do with cold immunes, but - infinity rarly breaks immunities of fire&cold, Lightning immunities are among the easiest breakables.
A inferno/frozen orb should be doable though.
any feedback would be greatly appreciated thx
feedback?

never tried a proper build but i know that it has the same cast time as CL to get started. it also devours mana like no tomorrow. bursts of inferno between FOs would be too short to do any hard hitting damage in my opinion.

Given the specifications the damage would be
5568-5884 damage per second
Approx. 1908 damage a second after the bug, not including fire res on monsters.
To put it into perspective, based on the same numbers
Firewall: 10766 a second before res
Meteor: 2924 damage a second before res not including strike damage
Blaze: 3093 damage a second before res
Even without the bug inferno is still a second rate skill
Not to mention you cannot move while casting the spell, making you a sitting duck waiting to get hopelessly slaughtered.
Smells like an untwinked HC guardian challenge
i started an inferno build before i heard about the bug, and it was no fun.
I think the main problem is getting interruptd. anytime you block or go into hit recovery, you stop casting inferno and have to do the whole animation again.
i actually have one, its pretty godly. i can do hell easily. Well chaos and ancients are a problem. I use es/ inferno/ and fire wall.
1 point in lightning and infinity merc kills fire immunes fairly easily.

Inferno is crap. I don't know who the hell would try Inferno.. It's like playing a Bowazon, without a bow.

That was a quiet dumb question, if I may ask, have you ever played diablo?

Sounds fair.... i will make a similar comparsion:
Food is crap, I don't know who the hell who would try that! It's like eating ****, without a spoon.

I've heard that one of the main issues messing up inferno is that the actual "missile projectile" area of effect is very thin compared to the spell's fire animation. So it'll LOOK like you're hitting something, but unless the center of the stream is on target, it'll often miss.
Same goes for the Assassin's "Wake of Inferno" trap, apparently.

What I hate with Inferno is you have to be stationary to cast it. Not only it's hard to aim but you will have really hard time dodging and attacking fast monsters..

Inferno goes well with Blaze and Firewall. Even looking at the tree shows that. But this build is rathe for funand entertainment and needs alot of training. Firewall will cover the damage, Inferno and Blaze are the funfactor, but not much else. Remember to have alot of FRW gear, so that Blaze will be more effective. Forget about Teleport.
