Well every once and a while a group of friends and I get together and play an ironman competition (we all party and level from 1-9 and only use items we find, then duel to the death). I was wondering what is the best char to use ? I did pretty good with a smiter, but I lost to a zon that switched between java and bowa attacks (kept running away from me in circles).
I'm pretty sure some kind of Kick-assassin would be the nr.1 Choice.
9 skillpoints:
1 TigerStrike
1 Claw mastery (pre-req)
1 BoS
6 Kick
Enough Str to use the best pair of boots you can get. Probably not very high, rest in vita.
Get a very fast weapon in slot 1 (your starting weapon is fine) and just kick away, you should win easy.

It depends on the rules.
There are a couple of builds that are VERY abusive, but they are generally outlawed.
Holyfire, poison javs... the sort of thing where you rarely if ever even have to stop to attack between all the running.
Kickers are a very strong choice otherwise though... I'm sure there are builds that beat it, but it is definitely one you see a lot of ^^
Depends what restrictions, if any, that you play with. Most ironman competition don't allow prayer paladins and other such overpowered (ie unkillable) builds.
Cold arrow/poison jav zons are nearly unstoppable, but because they rely a bit on a running game, are kind of lame, not to mention nobody will have CBF, so they'll never get caught. Only way to beat these guys is to make them run out of arrows/javs...
Prayer paladins can play the same running games, they attack and then when their health is low, switch to prayer and run away until their health regenerates.
Aside from them, kickers are decent, smiters, sacadins, FoF assassins (FoF>TS for ironman), etc.

Depending on the rules...
Poson Javazons <--- extremely cheap imo
Ice Blast Sorcess
Boulder Druids
Powerstrike Zons <--- not sure if this would be great, but does give 1-70 LD & +56% AR bonus
Dagger Necros maybe?

Necromancers with AMP are fine for surviving untill the last three... AMP someone, and he's a prime target for everyone else. 1 tp AMP, rest in bone armor.
