Best shield for javazon?

So I was wondering if I should get a stormshield or something else, since stormshield has so much str requirement. I might just socket it with a 40/15 (God, if I can find/trade for one!) or just a hel rune.

Are there other good shields for javazons?

P.S. Why is Ss so good btw?

I can only think of a few shields a Javazon would use for end game, of course there are other though.

Stormshield - Attainable max block, 35% DR, Res.
Spirit - Well, its spirit, nice mods, but can't max block.
20/20 Monarch - More for PvP, huge damage. A 20/20 JMoD is, well, just hawt.
Phoenix - Redemption, huge ED%, and +max Res, and other mods.

Its a personal preference, the 156 str really isn't that hard to attain, but some people like block while others don't care for it. I play HCL so my choice above all is SS for max block and nice DR. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with a Rhyme atm, but when I get one SS will be my choice. However, back in SC, I use to use Phoenix so I didn't have to worry about mana since my Merc would be packing an Infinity and not Insight. Max block also ain't needed in SC.

It's whatever you want to do, but if you go SS, I'd consider a Eld in the shield, a high chance to block (7%) means less Dex and more Vita. Everyone loves more life.

Most of the sheilds peeps have been mentioning here are very exspensive and hard to find, unless your incredibly rich.

Mosers Blessed Circle has been very good to me. I found it in ACT 3 NM got me all the way through the rest of the game. I even elited it with found runes from my hellforge run. This really brought it into its own. Plus it has two sockets. Two P-diamonds till you find better resistance gear works wonders. By then you should be finding better jewels and runes so those are definately options too.


For the ease in finding one my vote is with mosers. Plus the sockets make it flexible.

If you do have the stuff to trade for any of the other sheilds then those are definately worth a look.

Most? The only shield that I find expensive on the list are 20/20 and phoenix. I guess the facets in the shield mentioned by Lyrs can be expensive, but one can always socket something else like pdiamonds, no?

I like using Spirit on my PVM Vita JavaZon. The mods are nice.

I can run hell level no problems at all.

For PVP either a Jmod or a SS.

I'd say use SS for pvm and if your pvp you should switch on and of from a 20/20 and SS.

A viable option to a 4 facet jmod M is a 4x15ias/15res instead.

Otherwise, the one giving you the most bang for the buck is probably spirit.

Overall I'd say the SS has some advantages over Gerkes or any of the other shields already mentioned. It also has several weakness's that people tend to ignore. It certainly isn't the be-all/ end-all shield that some people claim it is. In some builds, like hybrids, the SS is the wrong shield to use.

I am using a sanctuary for my javazone and i love it. With all the items i have over 300 vita, over 220 dex and over 210 str (can`t remember the exact amount as i am not on diablo right now). So max block is not a problem for me and i love the resistance, because i am running hell WSK and i need it. Only thing that suck is when i switch to a bow, thats why i carry a Kira's guardian helm with me.

Right now i am trying to get some 15 all resist grand charms and then i will give SS a try.

Well, I don't know about it being the all-around 'best shield', but I can say that I really (really) like the Tiamats Rebuke shield.

Pretty much makes nothing immune to you.

I kinda like that offensive aspect in a shield.

I went with Moser's just because it is cheap, the mods and block percentage are decent and the 2os is great. I have had it since early NM and it has helped me out immensely. Stuck 2 pdiamonds in there and I was set. I don't really see the need for a SS on my java at this point. But to each his own.

We should, but people do use Pheonix', Faiths, CoHs etc etc.. So what type of items reccomended does include whether you want to use duped items or not...

personally i spend a lot more than 1 hr per char, so i dont agree with you there. phoenix adds damage, life, and means you will never run out of mana or life, even without leech. doesn't get much better than this

Hey, i have a question about mosers, when you up it, does the chance to block go up? If you look at the base shields, the elite version has a better chance than the norm version, i was just wondering if this carries over. If it does, im really considering using a 2x facet upped mosers with max block over spirit, even though im sc pvm. I was also considering a 3x facet headhunters, with no max block. Anyone tried all these and care to comment on which they prefer?

i bet if you did the math for the 8% more chance to block you get from upping moser that it'd be outweighed by the 47 more str you'd need... unless you already have 100 str.

i contemplated head hunters but wound up getting an already faceted tower shield of deflecting.
