need help with ias breakpoints

The calc has 2 boxes for weapons (both right below the character class), one is a german box and the other is an english box. You can select the english version of Gothic Bow in the second one

Which calc are you referring to? Both of them seperate skill-based IAS from item-based IAS because item-based IAS suffers diminishing returns. In the first one, the Weapon IAS boxes are only needed if you need to determine breakpoints for certain attacks, such as whirlwind.

Unless you're using an attack such as whirlwind or dual wield, don't worry about using the weapon IAS, and instead select all your item-based IAS% from the IAS box below left weapon. By item-based IAS, I mean any IAS that is not acquired from skills. The IAS from fana is a skill-based IAS.

here's my problem when i choose act2 merc and thresher(the reaper's toll,0%ias),so the ias should be 0%.I got a result.
when i soc the reaper's with a shael,the ias should be 20%,and i got a 2nd result.

That just means that there is no breakpoint between them. Your attack speed does not increase according to the percentage, but rather it increases by a frame when you reach a breakpoint.

well i tried put 75 into the IAS box,and the result is still the same...so what does this IAS box do exactly while it seems no matter u put how many into it,u got same results.or i should just ignore it.
and the result shows how many ias u need(including weapon's ias) of each fps,right?

1st and 2nd Result shouldn't be the same for the scenario you described:

With the Character set as Act 2 Merc, the weapon set as Thresher and 0% IAS the result is 7.5fpa (3.3 attacks per second). With 20% IAS, the result is 7fpa (3.5 attacks per second). With 75% IAS, the result is 5.5fpa (4.5 attacks per second).

The only thing I can think of is that you've selected a high level fanaticism aura or something, at which point item-based IAS become less and less effective.

Can you describe the initial fpa you are getting with 0% IAS, and then what it is once you've selected 20% IAS, then 75% IAS?

finally i see what you mean,but what im saying is when you choose act2 merc and thresher,then you will hit "show IAS/FPA table",and i got the same table...hopefully i express myself well:smiley:
and 1 more thing:the number you put in the IAS box is all your gear's ias or just your weapon's ias?

All your gear IAS%. Don't put IAS from skills there though, such as fana.
