asking a question about pure cold tree/need a check up

hi well i went with lorax's blizzard PvM sorc guide and I'm lvl 56 now and I'm in NM and I'm noticing theres a lot of immunities so I'm wondering if a pure cold build was ok or if i should start over. only been playing a day on this char so no big deal but any info or experiences with a pure cold sorc mfer would be much appreciated!:thumbsup:

When i had my Cold Sorc. i rely didnt self lvl but usually pure cold trees usually mf . In Hell there are more cold immunties in hell to so i think you could not really self lvl as just a cold sorc. or to run ure self thru NM and hell.

If your purpose is to solo the game and do all areas, remake your sorc. If your purpose is to kill Meph, Andy, and Pindle as efficiently as possible, a cold sorc should be fine.

I haven't played D2 in a while and was gonna make a new blizzard sorc to start out for mf and noticed the frost nova's tooltip says it's synergy increases blizzard damage by 10%. I used a skill tree generator but it wasn't increasing the damage. Does glacial spike still increase blizzard damage, or does frost nova actually increase blizzard damage now?

You got it the other way around for Frost Nova, I think. It's that Blizzard increases the damage of Frost Nova. Frost Nova does not increase the damage of Blizzard.

Ah, you're right! It really has been a while since I've played, thanks for clearing that up :) I was also wondering how many points should I put into cold mastery? It's pretty much just to do meph/pindle runs. I was planning on around 15 no including item bonuses.

If you plan to MF Mephisto, anything up to lvl 32 helps it. So, unless you already have superb gear just max it.
